Some say CHIXDIGGIT are one of the nicest things that
Canada has ever done for Sub Pop. Hailing from Calgary,
Alberta (home of the annual Calgary Stampede, which has
something to do with cowboys and cheap pancakes), these are
four strapping lads who know how to rock and roll.
In 1990, high school friends Mike, Mark, and KJ began
selling T-shirts of their fictional band "CHIXDIGGIT". An
acoustic guitar owned by Mark and a $25 drumset in KJ's
basement were the only evidence there was a band behind the
shirt. After a significant quantity of T-shirts were sold,
KJ and Mark urged Mike to buy a bass guitar, mostly to fend
off rumors that there was no band at all. Although a far
