Down beyond these city streets through gutters filled with black debris,
in alleys void of any light where nameless things live out of sight.
Down through the scrapers of the sky past neon words glowing all night
Echoes by names between each car, are you happy where you are?
Blind to this impending FATE
we let the world carry your WEIGHT.
It's back breaks with every mile
but we all live in denial! [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
Can we be saved? Has the damage all been done? [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
Is it too late to reverse what we've become? [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
A lesson to learn at a crucial point in time [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
What's mine was always yours and yours is mine...
Let's go!
And so we carry on each day, as if our lifes are not so grey,
while every breath that we take we only suffocate.
Brush past a myriad of scenes a homeless vet crashed on wall street,
A single mom of three, a TV personality!
Blind to this impending FATE
they let the world carry their WEIGHT.
Its back breaks with every mile
but they all live in denial!
Save us, from what we have become tonight....
EYES, glazed with distrust,
No sense of wrong or right [x3]
Can we be saved? Has the damage all been done? [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
Is it too late to reverse what we've Become? [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
A lesson to learn at a crucial point in time [WhooaWhooooaWhoooaWhoa]
What's mine was always yours and yours is mine...

Review about Chamber The Cartridge This Song | Reviewer: shadow | 9/10/09
This song is the first song I've ever heard from Rise against and I love it so much. I listened to it for about 2 days straight when I first heard it. This song, to me, is about how people do a lot of wrong things in life, but think that after they do what they did then the after effects are non-existent. And also about how some people want to know if it's too late to atone for their mistakes.
Incredible | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/29/09
Interpretations aside, it's worth noting that this is, in my opinion, the best song Rise Against have ever done. Not only does it have meaning as with all their songs, but it's so powerful, so frantic. It is fucking perfect
I don't think this is about Global Warming, you have to look beyond the literal meaning. I believe this is about humanities inability to see that we're destroying ourselves, and how quickly we forget the wrong we've done.
Great | Reviewer: Mennowar | 3/6/09
It's always the same with Rise Against. First, I like their music because of the music, but when I read the lyrics (I'm Dutch, so I don't hear them very well the first time), the songs are really amazing. It's almost unimaginable how people can write such true and awsome lyrics.
Great song | Reviewer: Ryan | 12/26/08
the beginning of this song is actually "This is Noyes" and not "This is Noise", it's a recording from the Chicago Transit Authority's Purple Line Train, at the "Noyes" station.
I believe this song is about the blurr that life can become... and when you look back sometimes the things you did were worthless in a situation where you could have made the difference, this song is about the Human Flaw of a Disposition to go with the crowd to make things smoother.
meaning? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/18/08
pollution? global warming? earth being destroyed? that's what I think anyway.
"We let the world carry your weight.
It's back breaks with every mile"
talks about how we're all leaving our mark on the world with our pollution, then how its breakin 'the worlds back'
"while every breath that we take we only suffocate"
Co2 in the air.
"But we all live in denial."
How most people are refusing to realize that we are destroying the earth and we need to at least TRY to chance what we've done and reverse all the shit we've f*cked up with our stupid ways.
but that's what I think.
amazing | Reviewer: Tanner | 8/21/08
I think this song is about all the pollution were putting in our streets and how no matter what evidence we see, we still believe it's not us causing us, also were letting or future children deal with our mistakes and they wll have to suffer and clean up our messes
Response to Meg | Reviewer: joey | 3/9/08
My interpretation is that the song is adressing global warming. And how the world is "carrying our weight", and many people are in denial.
"while every breath that we take we only suffocate" is adressing all the carbon in the air.
awsome song | Reviewer: Joey | 3/9/08
My interpretation is that the song is adressing global warming. And how were letting the earth "carry our weight" and many people are in denial of global warming.
