This song sings of success and victory as finally being able to go to the place one always called home.

This song relates to me as finally sailing for the place of my desire, where first dreams were born, fond memories created.

When I moved away from my childhood place to attend University, I more than often missed the sun rise, blue sky and the setting sun and persons I shared my memories with-- I always wanted to go back and be there.

This song was one of my dad's favorites. He passed in November of 2008 and when we buried him the sun was setting and the sky lloked on fire. I can't sing this song without remembering him and knowing that, no matter where I am or how softly I sing, he knows I'm singing to and for him. I miss you Daddy. I know you're happy in your Carolina wherever that may be.

One of the most beautiful songs ever written. I had the pleasure of seeing James Taylor last year with Carol King. Problem was, I found it difficult to sing along without tearing up. Silly for a 43 year old guy, and I can't really explain it. Guess it just reaches inside.

I dont live in Carolina but my relatives have a house in the outerbanks and i have loved it ever since now. I plan on going to college there and living there later. This song is what i play everytime im thinking about going up or even while im going up.

this song makes me so weak , all my emotions come up and i cry so much , reminds me of love ive squandered because i was either to scared or to selfish to commit , but still miss the love the person who is still in my life used to feel for me but still loves me but not like she used to . its better though because she suffered alot when i could not return the same in the past .

I have been a James Taylor fan for many years. I really enjoyed the tribute to him on PBS. I enjoyed it so much, I bought the DVD. This song is my children and my favorite.
