Carl Smith Lyrics

Known as Mr. Country Gentleman, Carl Smith was one of the
most popular honky tonkers of the '50s, racking up over 30
Top Ten hits over the course of the decade. Smith was also
able to sustain that popularity into the late '70s, during
which time he had a charting single for every year except
one. Smith had a talent for singing smooth ballads which
polished the rough edges of hardcore country. Nevertheless,
he could sing pure honky tonk with the best of them, and

Review about Carl Smith songs

------ About the song Wait A Little Longer Please Jesus performed by Carl Smith

Great job on my song. After all of these years, it still hurts that this song was stolen from me when I was just a teenager of sixteen. Nothing was changed in words or music. I have spent thousands of dollars fighting for justice for this song and others. Maybe someday it will all come out and the truth will be known.

Gethsemane | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Gethsemane performed by Carl Smith

On the hillside so lonely knelt Jesus one day
So wounded and worried he went there to pray
My friends there forsaken so lonely he feels
To heaven he's crying in helpless up ap-peals.
But the golden day has broken in old Gethsemane
... The morning all come singing the songs of victory
There's a new highway to glory the road that Jesus trod,
With a halo we're traveling the pathway to God!!!
On the hillside in garden such suffering I see
In humble submission he'll make his plea!!!!

We Shall Meet Someday | Reviewer: Bob Rinehart
------ About the song We Shall Meet Someday performed by Carl Smith

'Would like to suggest that you credit Tillit Sidney Teddlie, a Church of Christ Minister in Dallas Texas for writing this song. Also, you might want to compare your version of the lyrics with the original, also available online if you Google the title and/or composer's name. I doubt that Mr. Carl Smith would want to claim credit for a song he didn't write.

Thank you,
