Well here's Canibus Central's version of how Canibus got to where he is now. Half of y'all won't read this shit coz you already know it, but for you beginners, read this. He is, in my opinion, the most gifted emcee in the field of battling that I have ever heard. Yes, there is a lot of braggadoccio in this song, but come on people, that is Hip Hop...the song is not just him "rapping about how great he is"...but also talks about the hardships of trying to be an MC and how hard he worked, particularly once the beat switches he gets into a more reflective tone and then proceeds to chastise the current state of Hip Hop, a form of backpacking not braggadoccio. The metaphors don't actually add anything, they're just a chance to show off his ability to string together esoteric references. They don't clarify anything or add anything. Canibus is a lot like Nas. It's never as deep as it sounds. Unlike seemingly everyone that posted, I actually know what he's talking about, and I can tell you it doesn't mean that much.
