Stop stalling, make a name for yourself.
Boy you better put that pen to paper, charm your way out.
If you talk you better walk you better back your shit up
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun
Start talking "a sensationalist"
Oh he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
If you talk you better walk you better keep your mouth shut
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun
(Panic!: meet the press)
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us to take a chance
(Panic!: meet the press)
It's time for us to take a chance
It's time for us...
Well we're just a wet dream for the webzine,
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote
Well we're just a wet dream for the webzine,
Make us it, make us hip, make us scene
Or shrug us off your shoulders
Don't approve a single word that we wrote
I'm burning and I'm blacking my lungs
Boy you know it feels good with fire back on your tongue
If you talk you better walk you better back your shit up
With more than good hooks while you're all under the gun
Start talking "a sensationalist"
Oh he's slightly clever to just a certain extent
Well keep quiet let us sing like the doves
Then decide if it's done with purpose or lack thereof.
Just for the record,
The weather today is slightly sarcastic with a good chance of:
A. Indifference or
B. Disinterest in what the critics say
It's time for us to take a chance

This song is AWESOME, and i mean it, its REALLY AWESOME, something even barney stinson would find AWESOME. The music, the lyrics and his voice are in such an harmony, really nice.
PS: yeah John your right, i think he just had a bad day and he wants to speak with anyone about it ;)

i don't know if anyone noticed but..
the whole thing with the weather is also taken from a Chuck Palahniuk book called Diary.
in the book, the narrator frequently says something like this for example: Just for the record, the weather today is partly suspicious with chances of betrayal.

You are all a bunch of idiots... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 12/29/08
Okay, first off thank you all who actually USE English!! This is NOT directed to any of you, only a few select idiots on this sight. All right, this is my first point here. I absolutely love Panic at the Disco. They are amazing and I have loved them ever since their video of "I Write Sins Not Tragedies" premiere on MTV. That is my disclaimer. I am not just some idiot who has nothing better to do than rant about how much bands I do not particular have a liking for because I have NO social life. Those people just need to bite me and head on over to eBay, I hear that they sell social lives really cheap. [If your lucky you might get an original idea in that empty space between your ears!! Yay!] My next point is if you have something to say, express it in a way that is not offending, and rude. SOME PEOPLE DO NOT UNDERSTAND WHEN [U TLK LYKE THS]!!!!!!!! It's rude to speak in a way that is not understood by the audience you are writing for, namely on this site, ANYONE WITH INTERNET ACESS! One of my closest friends was born in an entirely different country, and continent for that matter. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet, despite barely speaking English. I find it extremely rude when people who do not know her well try to communicate with her in 'Chat speak'. Please do not act like you do not know any better, and do not belittle your education you have obviously received if you can read what I have written. This is meant to be left in a chat room for the purpose of gossiping [Which I also do not approve of, because it too is extremely rude.] over what you should wear to the movies with the 'hottie' that asked you out from 5th period, not everyday life. My next topic is that 'emo' is not a style or a label!!! It is a genre of music!! Emo and cutting are not the same thing. If you are that kind of person that is the stereotypical emo kid that sits their wrists you need to go see a therapist pronto! Cutting is a form of self harming, not 'emo'. That is probably one of the most insensitive things I have ever heard anyone be called. Well I hope you take this to heart, and think about what you type, and how it can effect others.
amazing! | Reviewer: kay | 8/15/08
i loooove this song! it's so catchy.
and if you like panic at the disco check out vitamin string quartet's tribute to them. they did panic at the disco's Pretty Odd album in violins, cellos, and other string instruments. i bought it and i'm addicted!
Time to clear up some shit. | Reviewer: Garry | 7/8/08
This song is Panic at the Disco taking the piss out of the scene that spawned them. It's an excellent piece of work both musically and lyrically. I felt like I had to get this point across because most of the reviewers are using some sort of text language to put across their points. Not all of this bands fans are idiot scene kids! My own taste ranges from Billy Bragg to Protest The Hero.
This band is not emo, but a lot of their influences are very poppy. If you like Head Automatica, buy this album. It's very lazy of reviewers to bump P!@TD in with the emo crowd since they are on Pete Wentz label, but don't let this put you off. Their fantastic debut heavily features tongue-in-cheek lyrics, and a dance-rock delivery. Their new album Pretty Odd rejects this style in favour of a more Beatles-inspired pop rock sound.

i love this song! my sister turned me on to panic! at the disco and i will be forever grateful for that. i would also like to say that i have this whole song memorized and all of they're other songs too. for emo people(like me) these people should be your idols-i would love to have them at my birthday party this year!!!!!!!!!!

this song is sooooo gd, the lyrics are amazing not just in this song but in all of there songs. they are different to other bands n they are doing it well!
I personaly don't really like this song but i think it means they don't want people to just like there music because it sounds good, they want you to actually listen to the words.

Ohkay. To start this off, I want to say::
I LOVE PANIC! AT THE DISCO!
The first time I heard this song was about a week ago, and since then I have been trying to descipher the lyrics to this catchy tune. Even with all of the thinking that I put into it, I couldn't figure it out.
At first I though it mgiht be about their [the band's] experience with fame, but when I came to the first line of the chorus, that assumption went away.
--"We're just a wet dream through the webzines"
After I processed that, the first though to came to my mind was "PORN," but when I look at the first line of the chorus and compare it to all of the other lyrics of the song, it doesn't make any sense.
SOOO! I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what message was Ryan Ross trying to convey when he wrote these lyrics.
Thanks a bunch!!!
~QUINNNN
P.S. It's "If you talk you better walk, you better BACK YOUR SHIT UP" not "If you talk you better walk you better package it up."
xD
