Yes No Call Me Mellow achieves a new level of greatness for this band!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/18/2004 I have to say, when I heard that Curt & Roland were reuniting, I was a bit skeptical. Their last collaboration, Raoul & the Kings of Spain was luke warm at best. So when I heard "Call Me Mellow" I was stunned at the similarities to XTC's Oranges and Lemons album of 1988. From the first chorus, the song's ultra catchy beat and smart lyrics sucks you in and keeps you humming along long after the song has ended. Pure pop, sure, but that's why we loved these guys through the '80s!! I'm still not sure that Roland wrote this tune, however. With its Beatles' like harmonies, it sure sounds like an Andy Partridge song, but hey,XTC was always another of my favorite bands....... WAY TO COME BACK GUYS!!!! Is this review helpful to you?
