Paul McCartney Calico Skies Lyrics

Last updated: 11/08/2011 10:00:00 AM

(Paul McCartney)

IT WAS WRITTEN THAT I WOULD LOVE YOU
FROM THE MOMENT I OPENED MY EYES.
AND THE MORNING WHEN I FIRST SAW YOU,
GAVE ME LIFE UNDER CALICO SKIES.

I WILL HOLD YOU FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE,
I'LL HOLD YOU FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

ALWAYS LOOKIN'G FOR WAYS TO LOVE YOU,
NEVER FAILING TO FIGHT AT YOUR SIDE.
WHILE THE ANGELS OF LOVE PROTECT US,
FROM THE INNERMOST SECRETS WE HIDE.

I'LL HOLD YOU FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE,
I'LL HOLD YOU FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

LONG LIVE ALL OF US CRAZY SOLDIERS
WHO WERE BORN UNDER CALICO SKIES.
MAY WE NEVER BE CALLED TO HANDLE
ALL THE WEAPONS OF WAR WE DESPISE.

I'LL HOLD YOU FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE,
I'LL HOLD YOU FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE,
I'LL HOLD YOU FOR AS LONG AS YOU LIKE,
ALL LOVE YOU FOR THE REST OF MY,
FOR THE REST OF MY LIFE.

for my son | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/7/11

Whenever I hear this song I can't help but think of the morning I first saw my son and how I fell head over heels in love. It was written that I would love him from the moment I opened my eyes...I'll love him for the rest of my life. This song could not capture my emotions more perfectly.

Oh this is a true love song; it transcends time with its medieval melody. This is a song that will be played at my wedding. It is just a souvenir of the talent that is Paul McCartney. I love it

This is such a good song, the words alone make it the ultimate love song, a Souvenir of medieval music that transends time. It is beautiful and it is going my wedding song.

A Far Cry | Reviewer: Miles Cheshire | 9/8/05

I first heard this song being played in a supermarket and didn't realise at first that the thin reedy voice was that of Paul McCartney. This mournful little dirge is a far cry indeed from the likes of "Jet" and "Band on the run", McCartney needs to plug himself back in and forget about folk singing.
