I lived a life of illusion and you had your kicks
So what, theres nothing left to do
And you and your obsessions and your crucifix
As if what I thought mattered much to you
And you were always my friend from childhoods end
It was forever and ever
Did you understand
It's childhoods end
But never, the dream is over
Sunday morning in the new york times
I read you died last night
It said you were smilin when you blew your mind
And the note you left behind said:
You were always my friend from childhoods end
Seems like forever and ever
Yeah, you wont have to have to pretend
It's near the end
You wont ever be a rock and roller
Yeah, you were always my friend since childhoods end
But never, the dream is over
You were just like me
I was just like you
For eternity Ill think of you
(Guitar Solo)
And you were always my friend from childhoods end
It was forever and ever
Did you understand
It's childhoods end
But never, the dream is over

Review about CHILDHOOD'S END RIP Harley Ellis (94-08) | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/8/09
First time I heard this song I thought it was a really good song (and I'm not saying that it's not a good song, btw. I think it's a brilliant song) and then I actually listened to the lyrics. I cried. It reminded me of one of my friends who died in a car crash that year (2008 was the year i heard this song). Now everytime I hear it, I think of him and I hope, even though I don't think he liked KISS, that it will show how sorry I am about the last thing I said to him.
RIP Harley. We all miss you... especially Jazzie, I know you were friends from Childhood's End.
