Dave Matthews Band and Dave Matthews Butterfly Lyrics

Last updated: 05/30/2007 11:00:00 AM

I'm not a bad man
I'm just not a lucky man...
You are like a butterfly
A Catipillars dream to fly
So bust out of this old cocoon
And dry your wings off
Butterfly
Go ahead, and fly

Its always such a lonely loom
Its sudden like a broken bone
And your luck wont always come along
So dry your tears away
Butterfly
Go ahead and fly

Dry your tears away
Butterfly
Dont you, Cry

I saw dave and friends live in oakland,CA in 2004 and he played it during that concert. I wasn't aware that he performed the song with his band, only during his solo project.

Where did you get it??? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/30/2006

I have been looking all over the place for the box set you are talking about and am only getting "Weekend on the Rocks", and Butterfly isn't on it. Where did you find your box set?

Butterfly | Reviewer: Lo | 1/8/2006

I cannot find it either. I bought the Soundtrack of "Because of Winn-Dixie" and was so disappointed that it was not on. My class had two Monarch butterflies go from caterpillars to monarchs in September and the two butterflies flew off to Mexico. I know they would "faint to the floor" if they could hear this song.

"Faint to the floor" is from the children's picture book, "Amber on the Mountain" by Tony Johnston. "Faint..." is ine of our favourite expressions.
