I think that this is a beautiful song. The performance by the Anita Kerr Singers (1969 Album - Reflect on the Hits of Bacharach & David) is the best rendition I have heard.

Every piece is a work of art - from "Promises Promises" to "This Guys In Love With You". Each piece is sophisticated and adult. My personal favorite is titled "She's Gone Away", but the female solo near the end of "Whoever You Are I Love You" is particularly sexy and wistful. This is some of Burt Bacharach's best work - and that's saying a lot.
