As they practiced in London's Townhouse studio, the Buggles
seemed to be on the way to becoming stars. Next door to
them were three established musicians who were trying to
cope with a major splintering of members from their band,
Yes. Keyboardist Rick Wakeman had left for the second time
and founding vocalist Jon Anderson had been asked to leave
the progressive rock group.
Remaining were founding bassist Chris Squire, long time
guitarist Steve Howe and percussionist Alan White. Their

The first time I heard this song was when I was playing Vice City (really!) and if you've ever played Vice City you should know that while you're in a vehicle, you can hear radio stations. I put it on and while I was driving I heard this song, and loved it. I stopped the car and heard the song until it finished, and I thinked "How can I live without knowing this cimb of music exist". Right now I'm hearing the song while I'm writing and can see how many people like Quiet Riot. It's awesome!
Video killed the Radio Star is a great peice of work and very good Lyric-wise And people say that the Buggles songs are well, bad but you have to give them credit for this.
This song, although it is a beautiful masterpiece of music, an ageing classic as people say, is a very true statement about how new artists get credit for songs they covered(no artistic flare at all) but the origional doesnt get recognised at all. This is somewhat ironic because the version of this song that most people know is a version done by Presidents of the USA, which features in a popular film about a man who sings covers for a living (the wedding singer, great movie.). It has also been covered by radiohead which is as we all know a large and prominent band. Even though this song is great it gets the recognition that it talks about in the song, they didnt get props when people heard gaydiohead or dumb bastards of USA, BUGGLES FO LIFE YO.
