Buggles Lyrics

As they practiced in London's Townhouse studio, the Buggles
seemed to be on the way to becoming stars. Next door to
them were three established musicians who were trying to
cope with a major splintering of members from their band,
Yes. Keyboardist Rick Wakeman had left for the second time
and founding vocalist Jon Anderson had been asked to leave
the progressive rock group.

Remaining were founding bassist Chris Squire, long time
guitarist Steve Howe and percussionist Alan White. Their
breakup had not been under amicable More...

Review about Buggles songs
Corrections of one phrase, a question mark, marking musical part and chorus form. | Reviewer: Hector Gonzalez
------ About the song Video Killed The Radio Star performed by Buggles

The phrase was written "Youll be the last one" and in the two versions I have heard they sing "You WERE the last one".

The question mark of the phrase "And you remember the jingles used to go" is a little confusing, because maybe it would say "And you remember WERE the jingles used to go", but its singed in the first form, so I conclude its an affirmation instead of a question.

The musical part is not noted.

Finally talking about the chorus:

The form of the first chorus exclamations are repeated in the song (Oh-a, Oh-a instead of Oh-a,O)

And in the final ones (among some format corrections), the "supporting" chorus sing " You are A radio star" instead of "You are radio star".

Thank you.

Hector Gonzalez.

------ About the song Living In The Plastic Age performed by Buggles

I corrected the lyrics from both albums Living in the Plastic Age and Adventures in Modern Recording, as I heard them from original vinyl and lyrics as they were printed. From this my corrections were completed as I visited the re-released original albums from 2000 und 2010 :-) please note my submitted lyrics from the bonus tracks of Adventures in Modern Recording, especially such beautiful tracks as Dion, Riding the Tide or We can fly from here Parts I&II. Thank You!

Kid Dynamo

(Geoff Downes / Trevor Horn)

Though today you might be riding the engines of progress
Working in the media factory
Call me if you ever feel like letting go
And we’ll remember the days of Kid Dynamo
Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo

Swimming in the sound waves of the playback from the 8 track
I think your mind was born with water wings
And now when I see you on our generation screens
I remember the dreams of Kid Dynamo
Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo

Kid Dynamo
I remember you
Kid Dynamo
Because it’s me and you
Kid Dynamo
’Cos I invented you

All that we said of how the media builds stars
And our minds will not change, only our cars

Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo
Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo

Kid Dynamo
I remember you
Kid Dynamo
Because it’s me and you
Kid Dynamo
’Cos I invented you
Kid Dynamo

Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo
Kid Dynamo, Kid Dynamo

The first time I heard this song was when I was playing Vice City (really!) and if you've ever played Vice City you should know that while you're in a vehicle, you can hear radio stations. I put it on and while I was driving I heard this song, and loved it. I stopped the car and heard the song until it finished, and I thinked "How can I live without knowing this cimb of music exist". Right now I'm hearing the song while I'm writing and can see how many people like Quiet Riot. It's awesome!

Video killed the radio star - spot on. | Reviewer: Gnomer
------ About the song Video Killed The Radio Star performed by Buggles

This song, although it is a beautiful masterpiece of music, an ageing classic as people say, is a very true statement about how new artists get credit for songs they covered(no artistic flare at all) but the origional doesnt get recognised at all. This is somewhat ironic because the version of this song that most people know is a version done by Presidents of the USA, which features in a popular film about a man who sings covers for a living (the wedding singer, great movie.). It has also been covered by radiohead which is as we all know a large and prominent band. Even though this song is great it gets the recognition that it talks about in the song, they didnt get props when people heard gaydiohead or dumb bastards of USA, BUGGLES FO LIFE YO.
