The guitar licks are bright and enrgetic, the vocals are exciting and alive. In the final verse the drummer Jerry Allison does a neat drum trick immitating the sound of a bat hitting a ball ("he hit a high fly into the stands" Drum). The lyrics (written by Chuck Berry) are very original, not your average pop song lyrics. This song has driving rhythms and a solid beat. This is by far the best version of the song.
