With a broken wing she carries her dreams man you ought to see her fly
She loved him like he was the last man on earth
Gave him everything she ever had
He'd break her spirit down
Then come lovin' up on her
Give a little
Then take it back
She'd tell him 'bout her dreams
He'd just shoot 'em down
Lord he loved to make her cry
You're crazy for believing you'll ever leave the ground
He said only angels know how to fly
And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you oughta see her fly
One Sunday morning
She didn't go to church
He wondered why she didn't leave
He went up to the bedroom
Found a note by the window
With the curtains blowing in the breeze
And with a broken wing
She still sings
She keeps an eye on the sky
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you oughta see her fly
With a broken wing
She carries her dreams
Man you oughta see her fly
When I First heard this song..i fell in love with it, it reminds me of my ex boyfriend. I Thought that we would grow old together, but i guess i was wrong because he didnt feel the same way. when i heard this song i broke out in tears. This song gave me a reason to get back up on my feet.I Felt like i had a broken wing and that i would never fly again. Im Blessed with 2 Beautiful Children and they help me to get by everyday. If It wasnt for my children My life would be nothing, and they love this song, because i sing it everyday, and it helps.
When I first heard this song, it brought me to tears. She has a gorgeous singing voice and brings so much emotion to her music. This song is a reminder to not let anyone crush your dreams, always believe in yourself, don't let anyone put you down.
