The furrowed bed of sand worries again
As it had before, waves left the land
For the falling tide leaves the child weeping alone,
He's letting go of the anchor and all the lines...
waiting for the fingers of the grey wave
or his mother's hand to roll over him
with endless water...10,000 bridges
Show me father.
Now I'm older, now much older
And this wave can take me out to sea
I feel the pull beneath my feet
But I can see her, she is calling
I can feel her there...I can feel her there
waiting for the fingers of the grey wave
or his mother's hand to roll over him
with endless water...10,000 bridges
Show me father.

Review about Bridges I love this song. | Reviewer: Ben | 12/8/08
I love this song, it's beautiful. I don't really care what it means or what it might not mean but it has a place close to my heart. I saw Chad perform acoustic last night in Cambridge and even though it's been 5 years since the last Dispatch I still miss them and listening to his voice brings back fond memories of that part of my life.
In the begining, I wasn't sure if I liked this song when I was first introduced to dispatch... but when I saw them last July at MSG in NY for their zimbabew concert, they played it on the old tour van and i was hooked. It was at that moment that i realized the message and how wonderfully bradigan came about singign it. Im still so lost in that moment...

Awesome song! | Reviewer: Ryan | 6/14/07
This is one of my favorite Dispatch songs. Where I come from (West Coast) they aren't very well known, but they should be! I play this song down at the beach all the time, great tune!
