Hailed by All Music Guide as “an example of everything right about hard rock,” the Syracuse-based BRAND NEW SIN triumphantly return with a monstrous sophomore release that is sure to garner the attention and respect they truly deserve. The group’s highly anticipated new effort Recipe For Disaster, their first on Century Media Records, features 13 tracks of pure hard rockin’ intensity mixed with undeniable catchy choruses and sheer aggression. The first single, “Black And Blue,” is a crushing anthem that shows the group have only grown tighter over the past year and are now prepared to take over the world. Unfortunately until i found the lyrics i had very little idea as to what they were saying. Gladly i know have a fuller understanding of the song and can know better appreciate it. In an age of boy bands, nut-job blonde bombouts, fly-by-night grunge/alternative garbage and whatever they're calling this headache-inducing junk on mainstream radio nowadays, musical inspiration comes hard for those of us who still love the old hard rock/metal/southern rock scene. This band covers all three, and damn well I might add. I detect relatively newer influences {Nickelback, Corrosion Of Conformity, maybe a little Seven Mary Three even} combined with the old vintage classic bands {Sabbath, Skynyrd, AC/DC, a hint of Zep}. If this is your thing, give these dudes a chance. They're true to their roots and that's all you can ask for in this fickle ever-changing world. Keep up the good work!!!
