i got a girl named bony moronie
she's as skinny as a stick of macaroni
i see her rock and roll with her blue jeans on
not very fat, just skin and bones
i love her, and she loves me
boy, how happy we can be
makin love underneath the apple tree
my one and only, she's my hearts desire
she's a real upsetter, she's a real live wire
gonna get married on a night in june
rock and roll by the light of the silvery moon
i love her, and she loves me
boy, how happy we can be
makin love underneath the apple tree
told her mama and her papa too
just exactly what we're gonna do
we're gonna get married in a night in june
to rock and roll in the light of the silvery moon
i love her, and she loves me
boy, how happy we can be
makin love underneath the apple tree

look bud, whether Pete wrote it or not, its still a good version of the song. If you're not a Who fan why the fuck are you reviewing the Lyrics for THEIR version of Boney Maronie? You need rethink your google searches.
I like the lyrics and i think they are quite witty, heck if I hadn't known it wasn't a Pete Townshend song, I would have mistaken it for one. It has the wit and comedy that most of his music contained back in the day. I mean, find me one person who did not laugh at one point on The Who Sell Out.

Great rock and roll song! Wondered who wrote it, found out it was The Who on an internet search. (Who's on first?) John Lennon and Johnny Winter and countless other rock and roll realsters have covered it. Lots of innuendo and multiple meanings in the lyrics, awesome confluence of rhythm and melody, Great song.
The Who did not write Bony Maronie. The song was written and performed by Larry Williams. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Larry_Williams
Man- you young folks think all these songs are new. I guess you think the Kingsmen wrote Louie Louie - suppose you never heard of Louis Jordan? If Michael is lost on this, where is he on the rest of the songs he "reviews"?. The Who - good concerts, lots of gimmicks, good music, not particularly notorious for musical quality - See Roy Orbison for no BS music that is more music than gimmick. If you like Bony Maronoie buy Larry William's CD not the Who.
