Boney M. Lyrics

Although they never had much success in America, the
Euro-Disco group Boney M was a European phenomenon during
the '70s. After German record producer Frank Farian (*
18.7.1941 as Franz Reuther) recorded the single 'Baby Do
You Wanna Bump?' in 1974/75 (which was successful in
Holland and Belgium), he created Boney M to support the
song, bringing in four West Indian vocalists who had been
working as session singers in Germany -- Marcia Barrett,
Liz Mitchell, Maizie Williams and Bobby Farrell.

Now let's take a look how this whole Boney More...

Review about Boney M. songs
"Belfast" not political | Reviewer: colm connolly
------ About the song Belfast performed by Boney M.

Marcia Barrett's "Belfast" (Boney M.) is not political. It is a Pop song based on the popular imagery of Belfast put out by the newsmedia.Anything put out for public programming by the newsmedia or published in newspapers for public consump-tion is "popular" category.Pop means anything anybody can listen to, such as "Belfast".

The song uses the word "hate". "When the hate you have for one another's past".
But the country is suggested as changing from this "It's the country that's changing"
(and could ultimately change to "the love you have for one another's future"?)

Kids should be allowed to sing and dance, and hold hands and be glad they are in love to this song. And get married and live happily ever after and never mind the yarns of the big bad witch.

And not have to put up with the unpleasantness of bitter old men banning it.

For what it does, it is a very good number.

And as regards Belfast city itself well-anykind of publicity is good publicity.

Isn't that right?

We sing it in Russia. | Reviewer: Galina
------ About the song We Kill The World (Don't Kill The World) performed by Boney M.

I like this song very much and I try to sing it with my pupils here in Russia(I'm a teacher of English). I've even tried to translate it for pupils, but it sounds better in mother tongue. I agree with all the people writing here -this song should be listened in present time. If we won't stop killing the World who will do it?

The song authorship unknown!! | Reviewer: lembu
------ About the song Malaika performed by Boney M.

The song is recorded in Nairobi, Kenya for the first time in 1945 by Adam Salim from Tanzania, in 1950, recorded by Fadhili from Kenya, then many other artists recorded and claimed ownership of the song in the followed years. This make the song authorship unknown!!

Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord | Reviewer: Kay Coburn
------ About the song Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord performed by Boney M.

My son and I were trying to remember the name and artist of this song played a lot on radio a couple years ago. Found it on a cassette taped from the radio years ago, by another artist. Searched internet, I found it on the internet by Boney M. RIGHT ONE. Great song.

a fine addition to the Western Canon | Reviewer: Johann Holzel
------ About the song Rasputin performed by Boney M.

This song taps into the same vein of darkly powerful east European Romanticism as "Night on Disco Mountain," combined with the trenchant period insight and commentary one might expect to find on the History Channel during prime time on a weeknight.

Mary's Boy Child | Reviewer: Mandy
------ About the song Mary's Boy Child/Oh My Lord performed by Boney M.

This is a beautiful song. I wish it would get re-released by Boney M. Others have covered it but no one so beautifully as the original. I wanted it played at church but no one in the band had heard of it and told me I would have to bring the music in. Unfortunately, that is apparently not available in the USA. What a loss to not be able to share it with others.
