This album is undisputeditely one of the greatest albums of all time by any kind of band. It has been called many types of music over the years-glam metal, hair metal, pop metal and arena rock-I would have to say if I were pushed to a choice that it is just upbeat melodic rock/AOR,Bon Jovi truly hit their stride here and stick to a clever formula that fuses AOR,pop and hard rock together.Musically they sound like a hybrid of Bruce Springsteen,Def Leppard and Journey, but the band are so tight musically, and such natural songwriters that they come into a class all of their own.Jon Bon Jovi is a charismatic and dynamic frontman with a voice almost taylor made for melodic rock, and every song is marked by their trademark melodic rock sound, energy
and flawless musicianship. In summary Slippery When Wet is the archetypal American pop/rock record.A classic.

Bon Jovi's monster breakthrough album. This album is glam-metal's biggest selling album, having sold over 25 million copies worldwide since it's release in 1986. Although it contained some of Bon Jovi's best songs ("You Give Love A Bad Name", "Livin' On A Prayer" and "Wanted Dead Or Alive"), it was frontman Jon Bon Jovi that made this album a massive selling hit. With Jon's good looks, the album took off just after it was release. Other than that, this record does feature a lot of good poppy rock and is a milestone in 80s rock.
