Blow Away Lyrics - Staind
Review The Song (3)
live in my head for just one day
i see myself and look away
the road is showing now on my face
soon i'll disappear
i'd disappear without a fucking trace
faces that i've seen turn old and grey
i've lost too many friends along the way
memories i never thought would fade
they fade and blow away
i wish that i could disappear
unzip my skin and leave it here
so i could be no one again
and never let nobody
i'd let nobody
i'd let nobody in
so now the walls are closing in
because in life you sink or swim
sometimes these shoes don't feel right in my head
feel like a book that can't be
a book that can't be
a book that can't be read

what are you talking about? | Reviewer: jessica. | 8/11/10
aaron lewis has meaning in all of his songs. i relate to this song right now, because everything is changing. my friends are all going off to college and i'm staying right here. we're all changing, when they come back it won't be the same..
Blow away is all about meaning! | Reviewer: Staindfan101 | 12/13/08
Maybe because you cannot associate with his haunting words, this song epitomises that neglect and rejection from the rest of society, after crawling deeper and deeper into the self perpetuating hole of depression.
Good times, that you knew existed in the past, times that you long to hold onto just to get through each day, all of those just vanish, "blow away". You can't sense any good in life anymore, everything is drenched in that sense of apathy you attribute to everything in life. That's what the lyrics mean, and this song is far darker, then even the stuff in Tormented, as it conveys his feelings so emotively, without being ultra explicit. He lets emotion drive this song, which is why the song is so immensely powerful.
Not much meaning but powerful music and voice | Reviewer: Robin Aletras | 11/22/08
This song has the same haunting and powerful voice from moving songs like So far away and Right here but the lyrics lack meaning. This song could be very powerful with the same music and different lyrics.
Not one of Aaron Lewis' best
