------ About the song Wake Up, Open The Door, And Escape To The Sea performed by Blaqk Audio
I loved this song from the moment I heard it. The whole of Blaqk Audio's album is genius and I'm not just saying that because I love AFI.
My theory is that this song is about Davey (or whoever's POV this song is writtern in) being very close friends with someone and starting to fall in love with them ("You taught me how it can feel like love"). That makes sense to me, because friendship is sort of like a platonic version of love.
"Let's leave unsaid what's left unspoken... Let's just pretend that nothing's broken" means that they both now that there are romantic feelings and chemistry between them, but they don't want to do anything about it because they're scared. "Oh my boy, you're oh so coy" also works with this theory, because it means that the 'boy' Davey is singing about knows what he is thinking but enjoys the secrecy and mystery of their relationship.
"We'll censor the ending for me... for you" means that Davey knows that whatever they choose to do will end badly, if they become a couple and fall in love, they could break up and ruin their friendship, or other people mightn't approve of their relationship. If they do "Leave unsaid what's left unspoken" they will remain friends but still have those underlying romantic feelings that would probably make the unhappy or cause them to be distant. Davey is scared himself of this happening, but also wants to protect who he's singing to.
That's the best I could come up with and that's how it sounds to me, but Davey's lyrics can be interpreted in many different ways, so this mightn't be the original meaning. :)
