Blame It On My Youth Lyrics
Artist(Band):Jamie Cullum
If, I expected love, when first we kissed, blame it on my youth
If only just for you, I did exist, blame it on my youth
I believed in everything
Like a child of three
You meant more than anything
You meant all the world to me
If, you were on my mind, all night and day, blame it on my youth
If, I forgot to eat, and sleep and pray, blame it on my youth
If I cried a little bit, when first I learned the truth
Don’t blame it on my heart, blame it on my youth

Review about Blame It On My Youth
Blame It On My Youth/Bernadette Peters | Reviewer: Pauline Bradford | 1/26/2008I recently purchased A Carrol Burnette tv collection from the 70's and happened to see and hear Bernadette Peters recording of Blame It On My Youth. I'm 71 years old and never have I seen and heard anyone sing a song with so much emotion, that I had to replay that dvd close to 10 times or more and give myself a day or two before I could actually hear and see that song in its entirety, and still not shed tears. What a CLASS ACT. And the intoduction to the song was:
You were my adored one
Then you became the bored one
And I was like a toy that brought you joy one day
A broken toy that you preferred to throw away
The introduction was never in the lyrics that I copied, I copied these words when I listened to her song.

nancy wilson has a version of blame it on my youth on her cd entitled, R.S.V.P. It's pretty good too :)
blame it on my youth | Reviewer: michael salamon | 4/11/2005
I was in New York last weekend, and decided to go to the Cafe Carlisle to see and hear Betty Buckley....one of my absolute favourites. She opened with "Stardust" and during the middle of her program she sang "Blame it on my Youth" and segued into "Accustomed to his face". I don't recall hearing "Blame it on my youth" since the old Nat King Cole recording...but I love the song, and Betty Buckley's rendition brings tears to my eyes. It was magnificent. Maybe it was the singer...maybe the song....but, truly, it was a mixture of both that simply melted the audience. Love that song.
