He wrote this after a boy in my home town killed himself. This boy impacted our whole community in everything he did. He was the baseball star, a friend of everyone, and the boy all the girls dreamed after. This boy had the smile that would light up the world, and he was also my cousin. The tigers football team refers to the school that he use to attend, and now just remembers him each year when they see that big number 14 out in right field. I always wondered why Mr. Feek used Chapel Hill though, I guess dear ole Mt. Pleasant has been through enough without people coming to us because of a song.
