Best Metallica song? | Reviewer: Anonymous | 5/20/11

If you know anything about guitar you will notice that this is a very simple, yet complicated and difficult riff to play. The intro is a classic and after that comes the ear pounding, heavy, and intense riff that has me arguing that this is their greatest song yet. The rapid intense galloping is what sets this song apart from their other songs. And the solo, whoa don't even get me started on the solo. Not only is it the most difficult solo kirk has ever played but it captures the feel of the song, its simply the best solo (in my opinion) that kirk has ever come up with. The lyrics put the cherry on top of the cake, they are dark they are heavy and they are METAL! They just don't make Metal like this anymore =\. Their best song from their best album, that truly was a Metal masterpiece.

Really?! Are you for real?! "Real shit" is one of the topics most bands now use in their songwritting. And if you are not just talking about a trend, but actually talking of a continuos topic that appears in almost every song of the band, then there are plenty of those bands too. Every 80's rock and 90's punk rock band ffs! And even other heavy metal band's, such as Machine Head. Don't get me wrong, as band's come, there's nothing better than Metallica, they're one of my favourite bands, but that's a really stupid reason for liking this band and not a million others. And as for they being gods, well, that's kind of an overstretch, they work extremely well as a group, but if you pick them apart not a single one of them is the best at his job, just very very good.

Metallica is the greatest band on the face of the planet. First band to sing about what drugs REALLY do to you (Master of Puppets) instead of the short term "benefit" they might give you. First band to play a song about the destruction of nuclear warfare (Fight Fire with Fire). First THRASH METAL band to hit the national scene. ONLY ARTIST (YES IN GENERAL) to have 5 CONSECUTIVE albums hit #1 on the Top 100 list (not just the rock list, the TOP OVERALL 100). First band to play a song about the Electric Chair (Ride the Lightning). I could keep going on FOREVER, but I think you all got the point =)

my mate got me into metallica- the justice album was the hardest album to get into- possibly because its the heaviest and has the most complex lyrics. but its now one of my fav albums of any artist. the opening of blackened is the best opening to any album and i wish theyd play it more at concerts...

This is one of my metallica best song lyrics is freaking good riff are heavy and solos are fantastic i dont know how hetfield have written its riff and lyrics he is very talanted in his guitar job i think better than muistane in writing riffs

ok well mate, as you say random love songs, i agree metallica stand on a lot of relavant topics but i think if you have any matrurity at all you will realise that love is one of the most powerful and upstanding issues up with corruption, war, money, ghreed power, hate and anger...so i think youd better take a very hard good long look in the mirror and realise what you are trying to say...random love songs are more powerful than you can contemplate my boy

A song about humans destroying the Earth with air pollution. ...And Justice for All, Eye of the Beholder: songs about flaws in our justice system. Leper Messiah: corruption and obsession with money in the church. No other bands write about such real shit... Metallica writes shit that any person could relate to on a personal level, not just a bunch of random love stories. They are not gods among metal, not gods among musicians, but gods among MEN. we can ALL agree that it's safe to say St. Anger was the crappiest album they ever released...but the 90s weren't a bad period of Metallica...so what if they changed? they still had that bit of inspirational power in the 90s albums with songs like Enter Sandman, King Nothing and Fuel. all it lacked was that galloping tempos and that stuff in songs like Battery or Fight Fire With Fire or Blackened that completely take you by surprise. that's what the "true" Metallica fans like. as for me, i am in complete love and devotion for all of Metallica's material with the exception of St. Anger; i was 12 when i bought that album and oh what a waste of 77 minutes were they (ok i'm being harsh, Some Kinda Monster wasn't bad)...Master Of Puppets would be the best album and it's a toss-up between Battery, Fight Fire With Fire and Blackened for best Metallica song. however they come at you or whatever they sing it's Metallica and they spank fire into you! \m/

When i bought '...And Justice for All' I really bought it because of songs like 'One', 'To Live is to Die' and the title song but when i put the cd into my player I was hit by one of the best openings of any album i have ever bought!

Incredible song, great intro, aggressive main riff, good lyrics and a sick solo.

GO METALLICA!!!
