Alice In Chains Black Gives Way To Blue Lyrics

Last updated: 02/04/2014 07:07:14 PM

(feat. Elton John)

I don't wanna feel no more
It's easier to keep falling
Imitations are pale
Emptiness of tomorrows
Haunted by your ghost

Lay down, black gives way to blue
Lay down, I'll remember you

Fading out by design
Consciously avoiding changes
Curtain drawn, now it's done
Silencing our tomorrows
Forcing our goodbyes

Lay down, black gives way to blue
Lay down, I'll remember you

just so you know, the song is about Layne Staley's death, and how Jerry Cantrell felt black and depressed when it happened, but he's saying to lay down and not worry because the black fades to blue eventually.

Beautiful, heartfelt song. It's about the way any given individual feels when he or she loses someone in his or her life. Black mourning gives way to blue depression, blue sorrow.
Death has a strong impact even on the mightiest of humans..

honestly, alice in chains won't change at all after lead vocalist layne stayley past away. Cantrell give a farewell tribute song tohis bandmate, who passed away in 2003. Alice in chains pour out their hearts in this songs. What makes this song more fascinatting from all other semi_acoustic songs, the legendary Elton John plays the piano in this trck. This songs is just simply amazing!
