Black Flag was the King of Punk in the late 70's to the mid
80's, churning out true hardcore punk. After the passage of
three short-lived, but very talented singers, Dez Cadenza,
Ron Reyes, and Keith Morris, Henry Rollins took over and
his first effort was on the 1981 "Damaged" album, which is
still acclaimed today as being a classic. He led Black Flag
towards a more heavy metal direction with the 1984 album,
"My War."
All four vocalists deserve respect for what they brought
to the band, each unique in his own way. The band often
paterned itself around the lead singer of that moment.
Greg Ginn was the main driving force behind Black Flag, he
was the only original member in the band when they broke up

Sure enough, Black Flag it was. I saw them at the Cuckoo's Nest in Costa Mesa years ago. I was the redneck-looking gut snorting Mollies off the back of my hand...throwing a stack of empty beer cups. Much safer than the mosh pit...
