BORN: November 30, 1955, Middlesex, England Most of you will probably know that our ‘Great American Rocker ‘ is originally from England. He was born William Michael Albert Broad on Nov 30th 1955, in Stanmore, Middx. When he was just 3 years old, his father moved the family to the USA, in the hope of what Billy describes as ‘finding the American dream’. They settled in Long Island, New York, but after about 4 years, Mr. Broad decided that perhaps it wasn’t the ‘promised land’ after all & they returned to the UK. After spending a short time in Bromley, Kent, the Broads moved to the quiet suburbia of Goring, Worthing in W.Sussex. And then returned once again to Bromley. It's a song where you can just go crazy and nuts with. One of the things I like about stars like him from the 80's is that they weren't afraid to say whatever they want in a song. I had alway sthought he said, "walk with electroglide" which is a type of Harley motorcycle, probably the kind he crashed on. Also, "wave hello to Christ" is real clear to me, the other sites had wave hello to pride...??? HUH??? This could eb a reference to how close he came to dying in the crash. But when reality hits, it's hard to let go because when people are in love, time is spent believing the lies that are told to them when they are being decieved.. There is so much controlled aggression and angst embedded in this pop sounding song. It is the first song from his "Whiplash Smile Album" where he deviates from the classic Hard Rock sound, introducing (IMO) drum machines and sequencers, aswell as multiple synthesizer rifts. But for this song, you can hear the powerful (but backgroud) guitar thrashs and rifts from Steve Stevens, not to mention his "Melodic- building to Screeching" Guitar Solo. The pre-chorus builds up tone and intensity before Billy releases his powerful singing in the Chorus. Enjoy the song.
