I read that he loved this song because he thought it was about someone being on a bus and killing people. Of course now I think that when I hear it...I hate it when crazy people steal great songs.

Having picked this album up for incredicheap, I have to say you really do get what you pay for back in the early 00's.
I'd heard the original before this, and frankly prefer it.

Well, the goverment watches us all the time and it doesn't need a face to do that just cameras everywhere we go does just fine and they deceive us all the time, take our money get on a private jet fly to vegas tell us how to live and what not to do, while they do it all. And got no human grace. maybe, we will all feel this way about the goverment once we find out the truth. Songs can be what we make them it's about feeling the music not analyzing it apart. just my opinion anyways.

I think a lot of bloggers hit the nail on the head on this one. Billy is OBVIOUSLY upset about a person ( Hopefully a female and not a male ) saying not to call him when hes far away but not to much compassionate on his part for a girl he left behind for fame and super stardom. Maybe he was thinking about the girls waiting for him backstage at the time while he or she was calling him. If i'm correct, who knows, he might of deserved it. With guys like Steven Tyler, Charlie Sheen and Mick Jagger having orgies every night temptation can be a bitch. Convincing the world he is the person who suffered in this ordeal is prob one of the best marketing schemes on his part which prob landed hime more action backstage in the end. Go Billy Idol !!! However, the song title is taken from a french horror movie, "Les yeux sans visage" which one would hear in the chorus of the song. It's a story of a father's love for his beautiful daughter who had a terrible car accident. Her face was so greatly disfigured that it was like eyes without a face. Those interested in the story should check out the french horror movie, "Les yeux sans visage".

Billy was on tour and stayed faithful to her and to the tour (didn't disuade his drinking and drugging mind you...)and was tormented when she would call him on the road and torment him re saying how much she missed him and how alone she was without him. He was trapped in his (touring) obligations and could do little about their inevitable distance and separation. He comes to learn that she was playin' him behind his back e.g. cheating, burning through his money and milking off of other 'gigalo-esque' men whom she would prey upon in his absence.

Ok, so I'm not THE biggest fan of Billy Idol, but I do enjoy this song. It's a song where you can just go crazy and nuts with. One of the things I like about stars like him from the 80's is that they weren't afraid to say whatever they want in a song. Example: Juice runnin' down my leg. Most people today would be like "eww." to that. LOL. But I do really enjoy this song.

Hey,
I checked 4 other lyrics pages and all of them had some inane bulls**T that made no sense. I had alway sthought he said, "walk with electroglide" which is a type of Harley motorcycle, probably the kind he crashed on. Also, "wave hello to Christ" is real clear to me, the other sites had wave hello to pride...??? HUH??? This could eb a reference to how close he came to dying in the crash. Blue Highway was my CB (yeah, dont ask) handle as well.

Alright. This is what I think of the song. He says he's all out of hope. One more outbreak and he's gonna crack! Then he states for her NOT to call him, when she's alone, since he doesn't want to be bothered by her. Then he says It's easy for people to lie and to tease them, which is VERY true. But when reality hits, it's hard to let go because when people are in love, time is spent believing the lies that are told to them when they are being decieved.. And then he gets mad because he has been trying to keep the dream alive, HE BELIEVED IN HER!!! Then he also states, once it was good.

All he's trying to say is that she's a disgrace. Then he just goes out there thinking of crazy things to do such as drinking and going on a trip and doing something stupid like reading murder books on how to kill a person! (LOL) What? He's gonna kill his girlfriend? We need Jerry Springer on this one. Well, sometimes love is blind. But not THIS time... My rating for the song is a straight 5/5 because I can realte to that song's lyrics. But I wouldn't kill anyone over some stupid heartbreak. It's called Get up and move on. It's easier said than done but... oh well.
