I had the great pleasure of asking Chi (Bassist) what his favorite song to play live was and he thought about it for about 10 seconds and told me "Beware" He said "Because it has a little of everything we do". I thought it was a great answer. I love this song- like I said the whole albulm is sweet, and the next song Cherry Waves is now my all time favorite. Hard to think I like it more then Knife Party, but wow, what a song.. This band has gotten so good, the've been my favorite since 95 but now, these guys, are untouchable. They have prefected their style. The Water | Reviewer: Akala | 7/15/2007 This song is probably one of my top favorite songs of all time. Chino's melodic, mysterious, and clear voice sets off deep emotions. This is a song you can close your eyes to and imagine the dangerous side of the eerie element of water (the drums especially help express that). The chorus of the song is definitely my favorite part, but I adore the whole song. The thing about this song as well as kimdracula, is that it has the same voice in different places. For example, when you hear Beware, there's parts like this.. "do you like the way the water tastes (like gunfire) for you but you could never say (then come forth) cuz its coming round round (the water)" The parts in parentheses continue the sentence but are said as if they are different topics and almost as if the vocalist's doppelganger had said those words behind you, but when you turn, they're gone. It's kind of hard for me to explain, but I hope you are able to see a little bit on how my imagination works. Anyway, I love this song. Mattingly | 9/22/2006 Well, being the huge deftones fan I am and how much I love and feel their music ,that song,beware the water,its so sweet it reminds me of an emotion that turned me on to the Defts so much in the first place.Deftones are one band I can honestly say I've liked from the first time I heard them .There is really something special about them! they are before their time and yet there here right when ya need em most!
