Between the Buried and Me arose from the ashes of some of North Carolina’s most well-known hardcore/metalcore bands, such as From Here On, Prayer for Cleansing and Azazel. Between the Buried and Me has found their own sound apart from what their old bands sounded like, becoming one of the most technical and brutal bands to come out of NC. In a very short time, coming together in late fall of 2000, Between the Buried and Me has become a strong force in the local scene. Which would also be explained by the "I learned to be selfish today, I learned to be alive" section and the two following lines. And the "Living Dreamd, Loving.....I've always dreamt of" section could be explained by this. (that sounded emo. i know). and right when the song hits the lyrics "From the reciting of the show, from the Plip and Shevanel, from the grind that annoys, and the sarcasm they all hate" i had to brake on the ride home and sit there and think. to think about what had happend between me and her. the fact i was just with her becuz i was and not what i was looking for. in the video, the guy doll takes off his head. its random as hell, but it has a meaning. "dont follow ur head, follow ur heart". thats my meaning toward the song. dont be selfish, dont just go after what you want, instead of ultimately not what you need. and this song portrays it well enough. thats the meaning of the song i got from it. ive been listening to this and for years and i got all their cds and i sen em live i think 5 times or so. and everytime they brought out a cd, they outdid them selves everytime. they are incredible. you cant label them what core they are or how terrible the song is because of the first few minutes. the guitar work is so flawless and just amazing (i should know. ive been playing guitar for about 9 years and its pretty challenging riffs and scales). the singing is some of the best ive ever heard. the bass is so intricate and constant. the synths and melodies even make ur grandma go whoa. and the drumming is over the top. they are one of the best bands around. i feel bad for people who call this band garbage because of the intensity of the first couple minutes for one of their songs (espescially this one) and they dont even get a chance to enjoy the rest of the beautiful music -rob Amazing. | Reviewer: zomgz. ------ About the song The Need For Repetition performed by Between The Buried And Me This song is amazing.
