Between The Buried And Me Lyrics

Between the Buried and Me arose from the ashes of some of
North Carolina’s most well-known hardcore/metalcore bands,
such as From Here On, Prayer for Cleansing and Azazel.
Between the Buried and Me has found their own sound apart
from what their old bands sounded like, becoming one of the
most technical and brutal bands to come out of NC.

In a very short time, coming together in late fall of 2000,
Between the Buried and Me has become a strong force in the
local scene. They bring out the kids, and with their
massive breakdowns, push More...

------ About the song Sun Of Nothing performed by Between The Buried And Me

Sounds like one hell of an experience the prospect had. The experience was an astral projection, an brought upon a higher level of consciousness for the character. Would not be surprised if this was Tommy Roger's personal account of an out of body experience.

------ About the song Mordecai performed by Between The Buried And Me

well, well, well, this song just blowed me away. no matter which part, they just did everything right in songwritting.
i thought mordecai is a name from the bible, if i remember it right. so the lyric imo is kind of about a new story about a new mordecai in the modern time.

Alaska/ Selkies. | Reviewer: mike
------ About the song Selkies: The Endless Obsession performed by Between The Buried And Me

Alright... I may not be the first to say it but, I love this band more than nearly any other! AS much as I love the killer licks and melodic riffs of selkies it is the best song on the album and as far as it goes I belive "Colors" the next album by BTBAM is much better than Alaska. Combining the same sound BTBAM somehow comes up with something slighty different, but fucking amazing! CHEK IT OUT!

one of the greatest songs of all time | Reviewer: Anonymous
------ About the song Prequel To The Sequel performed by Between The Buried And Me

yes this is 8 minutes of the greatest music ever written, but quite possibly the greatest lyrical piece written by tommy and company as well. the song is about mother earth and the evolution of the human race

the thing i love about BTBAM is that you can listen to it whenever. this song specifically, you can be pissed off, sad, calm, any range of emotions.. and the song still has elements that will appeal to you. <3 BTBAM

The awesome solo is actually pretty easy. Which makes it even more awesome!
Shredding is simply overrated. And this is real proof of it.
I have listened to this song like 15 times today and i get the chills every time, i cant get enough of it xD

------ About the song Selkies: The Endless Obsession performed by Between The Buried And Me

Such a good song!
BTBAM is awesome. The beginning is good. But my favorite part by far is the second half. I just love how it changes the heavy fast pace into that very soft piano/ bluesy guitar solo. So much skill

Between the Buried and Me is perfect. | Reviewer: Nick (Self-Acclaimed Music Critic)
------ About the song Backwards Marathon performed by Between The Buried And Me

Backwards Marathon should be the basis upon which all metal songs are written. The straight-forward and "in-your-face" beginning, the chorus beauty, then transits to a perfect, soft interlude that will build up into an intensity similar to the beginning, but don't forget the epic ending. This song is in my top 5 BTBAM songs list. 10/10

BRUTAL LOVE!!! | Reviewer: Alex Conner
------ About the song Mordecai performed by Between The Buried And Me

"Why should I sit in your chairs and satisfy your standards.
I've done it all before and I've confused myself a thousand times."

I think here he's talking about the bullshit of school and test taking. having to hold up to the standards of society.

"The tragic day that I call morality just doesn't do it for me anymore.
The day will turn black and I will have Neither lived or died.
Asleep mid-sentence- my words fall to the ground.
Swept into this dreamland.
Economic satisfaction."

Here he's talking about how even if hes viewed as successful and makes lots of money in our superficial world of consumption, he will still die and not have made a difference to anyone else. so he might as well spend his life doing what he loves: music. And why not growl and scream and be hated by the people who follow those standards??? I love you BTBAM. IM glad you made the right choice.

We Can Speak BTBAM Obsession | Reviewer: AzzA
------ About the song Mordecai performed by Between The Buried And Me

I think what Rob is saying is right, they're trying to tell people to follow their hearts, and not their heads. Which would also be explained by the "I learned to be selfish today, I learned to be alive" section and the two following lines.
And the "Living Dreamd, Loving.....I've always dreamt of" section could be explained by this. He was dreaming about something that he really wanted, and "Loving" this dream (being content in it just being a dream), but now he's awakening (realising that selfishness is what he needs to be happy) and now he has what he has dreamt of.
