Beatsteaks formed in summer of 1995 in Berlin. Band was
comprised of Arnim, Ali, Bernd, Peter and Steffi. Their
first few gigs were mostly some small shows, First "big"
gig was the opening for Sex Pistols ... which was their
10th live performance. In february 1997 "48/49", their
first album, was released by X'N'O in Berlin. In 1998,
drummer Steffi left the band, and was replaced by Thomas.
For their second record, due to succes of the 48/49, they
got themselves a deal with Epitah. They were the first
German band to sign the contract More...
