Beatsteaks formed in summer of 1995 in Berlin. Band was comprised of Arnim, Ali, Bernd, Peter and Steffi. Their first few gigs were mostly some small shows, First "big" gig was the opening for Sex Pistols ... which was their 10th live performance. In february 1997 "48/49", their first album, was released by X'N'O in Berlin. In 1998, drummer Steffi left the band, and was replaced by Thomas. For their second record, due to succes of the 48/49, they got themselves a deal with Epitah. They were the first German band to sign the contract with this great punk-rock record company. "Launched" the 2nd album was released in 1999. At this time Ali has parted from the band too, so Torsten took his place. As the result of all of this, next thing that happend was the Vans Warped-Tour with Pennywise, die Toten Hosen and Donots, and then Deconstruction Tour with label mates NOFX. Their 3rd album "Living Targets" got out in 2002. Their first acuall video clips were recorded for two songs from this album –Let me in- and -Summer-. In March 2004 "Smack Smash" 4th studio album was released by these awsome guys. After that the long list of tour dates came along... And now, we're waiting impatiently for their first DVD and hopefully loads of new excellent kick-ass songs and records, and of course...more brilliant rock shows all over the world...... |
