Steven Curtis Chapman Be Still and Know Lyrics

Last updated: 03/06/2011 10:00:00 AM

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is holy
Be still, O restless soul of mine
Bow before the Prince of peace
Let the noise and clamor cease

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know that He is faithful
Consider all that He has done
Stand in awe and be amazed
And know that He will never change
Be still

Be still, and know that He is God
Be still, and know that He is God
Be still, and know that He is God

Be still; Be speechless

Be still and know that He is God
Be still and know He is our Father
Come rest your head upon His breast
Listen to the rhythm of His unfailing heart of love
Beating for His little ones
Calling each of us to come
Be still, Be still

PSALM 46:10 | Reviewer: jacqueline | 3/6/11

This song has been out for awhile but never gets outdated. In this fast-paced world of ours today, with all the constant interruptions (cell phones, texting, emails, traffic), we need to be reminded to just stop and listen to His "still, small voice".
Psalm 46:10, I Kings 19:12. Selah.

WOW!!! During a very difficult point in my life, this song just continues to bless me, over and over again. To understan that God is ever present, ever moving and ever interceding on my behalf. It just allows me to know that my God is truly my God and through it all, I don't have to do anything but trust, believe and know that God is who He is. I am thankful for such a beautiful song, but more thankful for a God who loves me so. thank you for reminding me of that through this song.

Speechless... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/28/09

Such an incredibly rich, deep song. It's one of my all-time favs from Steven Curtis Chapman. The lyrics are simple but beautiful, and the melody is what I like to call an "of course" melody. In other words, when I first heard it I thought, "Good grief, why didn't I think of that?" Answer, "Because you're not a genius. Duh." But it's got that flowing inevitability that makes a truly great tune.

This song always lifts my spirit and gently places me in the presence of God. Whether or not you're a fan of Steven Curtis Chapman, you need to hear this song!

Beautiful, simple tune, beautiful lyrics--this song wonderfully expresses the strength and peace that God's love brings to those who know it, and the awe they feel, kneeling before His throne. Five stars.

These lyrics are so incredibly beautiful-- and true. The third verse just blesses me so much, as it encourages us to fall into the arms of our God and realize just how much He loves us. I don't do that often enough... But this song is a beautiful reminder.

This song is truly an amazing song. The lyrics are so true, and so deep. I really love the Speechless album. Steve Curtis Chapman is by far the best Christian singer and songwriter out there.
