Chances are, if you've been anywhere near a dancefloor in the last few years you've heard and adored Basement Jaxx. Their meteoric debut Remedy was hailed as one of the most important records of the '90s, winning props from press, fans and club luminaries Danny Tenaglia, Armand van Helden and Daft Punk.
Now, after three #1 club hits and massive critical acclaim, the duo of Felix Buxton and Simon Ratcliffe return with their sophomore release, Rooty. Named after the underground parties the pair have been throwing in a down-at-heel Irish pub in (where else) Brixton London, Rooty is a masterpiece of state-of-the-art dance music eclecticism. The album mixes classic house with generous lashings of punk, funk, R&B, jazz, hip hop, 2-step and pop songcraft in a mad genre crash that works like a charm. A joyous jumpin' ride, Rooty is underground music with universal appeal, an album of soul and innovation sure to be thumpin' n' bumpin' from club bassbins and car stereos all summer long. Check it out, and we think you'll agree: it's time to get Rooty.
Following the widespread acclaim and international succes of 1999's REMEDY, the duo of Simon Ratcliffe and Felix Buxton have released their sophomore album, ROOTY

Review about Basement Jaxx
Wicked | Reviewer: Sarai Gee | 5/12/2005
I am amazed that no-one has put in any reviews about one of the best groups/producers/artists, like ever !! Many people don't realise that some tracks they hear are actually Basement Jaxx, which is not suprising due to how their style changes from track to track...The new singles album is a must have, it has their best singles on there, and also some exclusive remixes...
all that is left to say is, buy the album and you will be pleasantly suprised... Basement Jaxx ROCK !!
