BORN UNDER A BAD SIGN Lyrics - Eric Clapton

Review The Song (1)

by Booker T. Jones and William Bell

Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck at all.

Bad luck and trouble's my only friend.
I've been down ever since I was ten.

Chorus

You know, wine and women is all I crave.
A big bad woman's gonna carry me to my grave.

Chorus

First Verse

Born under a bad sign.
I've been down since I began to crawl.
If it wasn't for bad luck,
I wouldn't have no luck.

Born under a bad sign.
Born under a bad sign.

As I recall, Clapton not a "band" at that time, but an original member(guitar and vocal; there were only originals) in the band, Cream (among the first [meaning, really really loud] hard rockers), which recorded William Bell's and Booker T's (Booker T. and the MGs?)song, Born Under A Bad Sign, with Clapton singing the lyric... If it took two to "write" that lyric, just think what 4 writers could have produced. LOL
