Thank you for posting this up. I love it. This song reminds me of my sweetheart who left. I miss my sweetheart but it's hard to be so far away. All that's left are silhouettes of shadows in my head. So much loneliness but I keep hoping that all will be ok. If you see these tears fill in my eyes it's just the wind that makes me cry. If you could feel this pain it's from the drinks we drank last night.

I was Lookin' for some Acoustic songs I don't know and I met up with this So awesome song !! I feel like I wanna cry when I 've listened to it in 2 days I repeat it 100 times and now I can play it !! But I prefer to listen to it while I am touchin' my Sadie(guitar) !! I've lost lot of Beautiful things in my life, my dad, a girlfriend 8 years ago whom I loved so much :(, and some dear friends, I still have the universe but it is just this song makes you close to what in ur deep heart, and makes emotions whom says Forgive me for everything, for not knowing ur Value till I loose you, for not being able to make you Happy, for not being with u right now !! and " I'll just sit and stare at my deep blue walls

i really like the song too. i understand how it's simple.
but there are a lot of layers going on the background.
the fast piano that loops the whole song
the slower piano/guitar chords that guide the melody
and sounds like two separate strings parts as the song builds up
and i think a bass mixed in low.
and drums. and sometimes two voices. it's not minimalist ;) just soft.

Not all men are callous, you can't specify the entire male species just because you had a couple of guys play with your heart. Maybe you've been the one giving the wrong guys chances and not considering ones that could actually care? And even if no one cares, you can't despair and assume no one ever can. Because all you live on then is the past. Rather, move forward and make people who care and learn from your past mistakes in a mature manner rather than just saying all males will leave you heartbroken. I could say the same thing about girls and I would be wrong too.

Great song btw, great for staring into space and thinking or playing on guitar.

I don't know if I agree with either of you. I think the song is beautiful, sad, and existentially profound at the same time. My disagreement has to do with the take on whether music should create a mood, or add to it. I think, depending on the circumstances, it can do both. I tend to listen to something to make me feel "something", not different, or to add to what I'm already feeling. I listen to music which makes me "feel" human. I'm sure you two do as well, as it seems you both like Azure Ray, and their music provides many opportunities like this song (Rise) to feel the writer's sadness and hope indirectly and yet still be affected somehow. I will say that most people I know listen to something when they want to enhance their mood (sadness during sad times, happy....) or to change their mood. I did this my whole life. I think, however, that to truly enjoy different types of music, one must treat music as something special in and of itself, a main meal instead of an ingredient, if you will.
