It is trying to say that Avarice can kill anyone and that it will kill YOU in time. not "kill in time". This part is very important as they are trying to get the message that it is telling PEOPLE in general, not just the politicans. Yes they control the citizens's lives but still it is ultimately people's greeed and lust that is the main issue here. This, is a strike against a corruption in politics if you look between the lines. "Politics and evil All one and the same" Politics is evil, that is what this means, this is pretty obvious to you, but it's showing us, the audience, that we're in for a hard, deep hitting song about the evil that is politics. "Free my hands from bondage Take these chains away Running from destruction Avarice will kill you in time" He is bonded by politics, like a dictatorship, he is chained, a slave, trying to run from the destruction thats happeneing. Avarice, an uncommon greed for wealth, will kill in time. Meaning that if people are not released by the government, their greed will kill us, that is the destruction that is revered to. This is my opinion, and at the moment, I agree completly.
