Asthenia Lyrics - Blink-182

Review The Song (25)

Last night it came as a picture
With a good reason, a warning sign
This place is void of all passion
If you can imagine it's easy if you try
Believe me I failed this effort
I wrote a reminder this wasn't a vision
This time where are you Houston
Is somebody out there will somebody listen

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

My head is made up of memories
Most of them useless delusions
This room is bored of rehearsal
sponsored links
And sick of the boundaries
I miss you so much

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
This time I don't want to
Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
This time I don't want to
Should I go back should I go back should I
I feel alone and tired
Should I go back should I go back should I
I hope I won't forget you

this song isnt about astronauts... its about toms feelings about blink before they broke and whether or not he should stick around. "this room is bored of rehearsals im sick of the boundaries, i miss you so much" is obviously about his family or jen!

What this is about... | Reviewer: CoLomBiaSauriO | 8/26/12

The song just speaks in the words of an astronaut who is alone in space and doesn't feel much about coming back to Earth, a condition NASA calls "Asthenia". However, the astronaut has someone he loves back in Earth, so he wonders if he should stay in space or go back for that person. But off course, the idea of the song is to apply that story to one's life, feeling alone, or separate from someone, and not being sure about coming back to that person, being it the only reason to do it.

a few people have been close with this its about an astronaut who has left earth and after seeing how beautiful it is away from the planet we've destroyed he thinks that its not worth returning except for the fact that theres someone that he loves waiting for his return.

If you any of you actually actually bought the CD rather than downloading everything, it gives the inspirations of the songs.
This song is about an astronaut. In space he sees how messed up the world is and considers not going back, hence the lyrics. lol

i know what i say is wrong, but in my opinion, """the song seems like it could be about a man loosing a girl, and the girl treated him great . And now that shes gone, he feels "alone and tired" and theres another girl in the picture, and he doesnt know if he should go back to the other girl, and if he does, he hopes that he wont forget the other girl .. but thats just the opinion of a 13 year old . so dont hate on me ."""

meaning | Reviewer: Tyler | 6/6/10

with all the arguing about what this song is about, i believe it can be about whatever you want it to be. though the meaning is very obvious. some people like stretching things to work into their life situation. at the end of the day. who really cares. great song, top 5 blinks done without a doubt. especially love the bridge.

At the end I think there are a lot of interpretations and that's really the great thing about all this you can actually identify with the song!!wether you're and astrounat XD or just feel weak tired and lost!!!or with anything for example "Mt ex and I always used to spent hours in my bedroom (watching movies, and listening to music not just having sex perverts) and I really identify myself with "My head is made up of memories
Most of them useless delusions
This room is bored of rehearsal
And sick of the boundaries
I miss you so much" 'cause it's really sad no be in that room with so many memories and I miss her soooo much, so I think it's more important that than arguing about what's the actual meaning it was rote with!!=D!!

This song is amazing. The metaphoric language is brilliant. One one yes, this song is about "an astronaut sitting in a space capsule about floating above the earth, contemplating if coming back or not will make a difference on such a negative place." but on another level it's about the loss of hope. A term was coined for the breakdown of life in space. He's feeling isolated, in such a negitive world.

The Real Deal | Reviewer: Chris | 11/4/09

John is right, although the song is sung from the point of view of an astronaut, that's not what its about. The entire song is about someone who feels alone in this world, and whose actions have no impact on anything. he narrator wants to get away from this place he lives, but hes not sure what to do, and just feels hopeless.
"this time where are you Houston
Is somebody out there will somebody listen"
This line means that hes calling out for help, but no one will listen, and he feels so alone, much like an

all you guys are fucking retarded, its is not about space, but you idiots dont know what the word Asthenia means, its fucking medical condition, its weakness, it could be mental weakness or physical weakness. Houston is a metaphor, someone lost in a space would ask houston for help right, well space is huge, he feels lost, what makes lyrics great are metaphors and symbolism... noobs

Direct Quote from Tom Delong | Reviewer: Quit Making Stuff Up | 12/31/08

According to Tom DeLonge, "This song is about one thing only, an astronaut sitting in a space capsule about the size of a car, floating above the earth. He's contemplating if coming back or not will make a difference on such a negative place. A song about the loss of hope. A term was coined for the breakdown of life in space and it is called Asthenia, the name of the track."

your all stupid | Reviewer: john | 12/24/08

This song is actually #1 a tribute to David Bowie's Space Odyssey. #2 Tom wrote this song because he is obsessed with space and is part of a UFO watch group because he thinks he's been analy violated by aliens. Asthenia isn't about the war or deciding to come back to Earth(that's just a lyric in the song) asthenia is an ASTONAUTS FEAR OF BEING LOST IN SPACE WITH NO CONTACT AND NO WAY TO GET BACK.

YOU EITHER HAVE TO STARVE TO DEATH OR KILL YOURSELF.

Listen to the end of this song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 11/19/08

Hey guys this song is about the space thing. If you listen to the end(and the beginning) you can hear radio transmission where the astronausts are talking and then the sound of a rocket lift-off. Besides that, this song is SICK!!! WE MISS YOU BLINK!!!:(

good song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/6/08

if you don't actually know what this song is about do not comment on it. It's called Asthenia which is the feelings an astranout may have when he is up in space and he doesn't want to come back to earth. Tom Delonge says in the sleeve notes of blink 182 enhanced that it is about this. So it's not anything about the Vietnam war
