Assimilate Lyrics
Performed by Skinny PuppyReview The Song (6)
oil remove shred and tear radiation vapor air
it's the fear so unclear man in motion going nowhere
in our homes stuck in the face spread the dirt to the populace
yellow journal yellow journal set the pace feel the rage
manifestations of a sort so insidious off the point
simple solution never confusion sport a gun kill a cop
crazy world of weary thought so receive me had enough
lock me up lock me up
rot and assimilate so hot to annihilate
deviation tonic mess prolonged existence innocence
is he who speaks isn't weak wheelchair virtue so to speak
bubonic plague the truth of aids immunity avoid decay
in the trench of pestilence the bible screams announce your faith
mutterings of death to bring suffocate a newborn thing
degradation of an age venereal it's all sensation
protect design the moral plan infallible as propaganda
completely black with no steps back
hot to assimilate we'll rot or annihilate
agony profusely stains the inner thinking of the brain
accusations clanking chains experiments with the groans of pain
all prefer no one blames the terror in an animal's screams
in cages our future - the answers insane

Why I love Assimilatin' to SP | Reviewer: skeezix6 | 6/24/11
Whwn I was listening to the songs on The Gothic Box (3 cds), I came across Assimilate late on the third cd, and I will not forget my first impression of this song. 1 minute into the song, I pushed the restart button for the track. I can't believe i miss this song way back in 1985. It conjures images of Lovecraftian scenarios and the chaos generated by unwise decisions in modern science. It is definitely unique.

Likewise, I'm sure. Pink Floyd is an excellent comparison iidssm ( =) "Ambiantz" is a very nice comparison as well, they continue to set the standard, something that probably brings great despair to Goettel in his present torment, mGhmohs
A must have | Reviewer: typ44 | 6/18/09
One of my favorite puppy songs along with Deadlines and blood on the wall. Bites is imo the best industrial album ever made and far ahead of its time. Check out the Bites and Remission for the R-23 version of Assimilate. Go now. BUY IT!

You just don't get much better than Skinny Puppy. This song is a classic example. IMO, the only other band evenly remotely comparable was Pink Floyd when it comes to ignoring the current trends and creating music that is far ahead of it's time. Anyone into industrial/electronic music should be issued SP albums as prerequisite listening (though it raises the bar high enough that most other industrial can't add up!)
