Ashen Reign Biography
Ashen Reign is One Vision, One Purpose, One Goal. Music played with emotion, passion and integrity.
Ashen Reign is a one-man metal act hailing from Atlanta GA, USA where Brent McDaniel is the force behind the music performing all instruments, mixing, and engineering. The musical direction can be described as modern, dark and brooding. Influenced by bands like Falconer and Porcupine Tree, throw in a pinch of Opeth and Paul Gilbert and you have the basic influences that inspired the birth of Ashen Reign.
Brent McDaniel wants to beat the odds and show that a one-man band can create great music and share that music with you. Nothing more, nothing less. Being a self taught musician across guitar, bass, keys, vocals and drums then self taught recording, mixing and engineering from the ground up, there are about a million barriers to realizing this goal. But none of that matters if the music reaches the ears of one person who simply enjoys the tunes.
Ashen Reign formed in 2008 with the release of the debut Demo CD "Immortality". The new CD released July 1, “An Angels Burden” feature songs of Hope, Fear, Life, Death and Dying. The music is played with precision, attack and focus.
"I grew up in the south, traveled to over 20 countries and settled back in the south. Being a Metal band (to the power of one) from Georgia, who grew up in a family of musicians, bands in high school and the Navy, I have always been in awe of other musicians. I enjoy other music and it inspires me to make the best music I can. I have tried being in bands, but eventually other shit gets in the way of the music and if it's not about the music, then what the hell's the point?"
