I love apocalyptica's instrumentals so it took me a while to get used to the vocals- and this song has pretty damn epic ones. It's the chorus I love the most, powerful voice, powerful lyrics, powerful backing. Great song!!

Dont get me wrong, Obviously I wish that rape and abuse never happened... His actions really scarred me and made me a very broken person. But I couldn't stop it from happening. That's why I can certainly appreciate the beauty of this song (and the beauty of all music and art inspired by pain). My abuser took the 'light' away from me, but I've found it because of art <3 he didn't win.

"does it feel good to deny" - she has such raw emotion in her voice. I'm not afraid to feel that emotion.
Because of apocalyptica, I am healing :)

Its not:

I believe its:
"NOT LIKE YOU CARED FOR ME! NOT LIKE YOU CARED FOR ME!"
Makes more sense then what you have in your lyrics.

Repressed is a very special song not only because of how good it is, but also because of the significance it has for Apocalyptica. Eicca Toppinen had the opportunity to invite Max Cavalera of Sepultura to be part of his song and it turned out wonderfully. The screaming sort of vocal isn't usually my thing, but because of the melodic portion of the song, it gives it just enough of both elements that it's perfectly balanced. Additionally, what always impresses me is that no matter what the song is about, coming from Apocalyptica, the lyrics are always well thought out and unique. And that's why I'm proud to say that they're my favorite band.

This song describes exactly what I am going through.....I had the greatest girl in the world, but I screwed up royally. And it seems like no matter what I do I am drawn back to her. Every time I hear this song, I sing it and pour my heart out with it!! This song expresses how much I had felt for my ex and how possessive he was to me. But after leaving him, I've never stopped loving this song and that MoFo has forever left me a scar on my tattered heart. Now I'm strong enough to say my heart will never be his :)

This is some of the coolest shit I've heard from these guys. To take nothing from Apocalyptica, Sandra SO TOTALLY makes this song!!! She has the most powerful chick voice out there and she's STUPID SMOKIN! I could wake up every morning to "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TRYIN'" coming from that hot little package.
I heard this live with Sandra and a full set of drums and was blown away! The drums were huge. The full instrumental with the aux. percussion and w/o Sandra...luke warm at best.

This song is unbelievable. It is essentially me and the boy I have been in love with for years. He is a total asshole to me, but I can't seem to stay away from him. He has driven me to tears almost every day I have ever seen him, and this song shows me that I'm not the only one suffering through this... I guess that's what's given me the strength to give up on him. I won't stand for his shit any longer.

You obviously don't understand good music if u think this shit. Sandra's not a pop singer, she sings rock and she has a great voice for rock. Why don't you go back to your taylor swift who sings "pretty" and who's lyrics make sense to you.

Ville's low haunting voice with Lauri's higher melodic voice is the perfect blend for this song. When I first heard it I almost died from pleasure. The two voices fit so perfectly together and I agree with the person that said you can hear the longing and desperation in their voices as they sing. I seriously wish I could marry Ville's voice because I'm seriously in love with it. The cello's work beautifully with the song, the memebers of Apocalyptica are complete geniuses and I think I have to move to Finland for so far thats where all the good music is. Kudos to Ville, Lauri, and Apocalyptica. You are amazing!
