Apocalypse Please Lyrics - Muse

Review The Song (35)

Declare this an emergency
Come on and spread a sense of urgency
And pull us through
And pull us through

And this is the end, the end
This is the end
Of the World

And it's time we saw a miracle
Come on it's time for something biblical
To pull us through
And pull us through

And this is the end, the end
This is the end
Of the World

Proclaim eternal victory
Come on and change the course of history

about the song | Reviewer: octa | 6/23/12

i don't think it is literally about some preacher or apocalypse but the things us people turn to in thought of that and how tiny and useless they seem in comparison ...first the army...faith...and revolutionary minds...come on and pull us trough...come on and pull us trough...which one will pull us trough? cause every day is the end of the world...who knows?...maybe the beginning of an other

Excellent Song | Reviewer: David Melendez | 8/5/11

This song tends to be about the years of accumulating filth coming back to bite humanity in the ass. I doubt it has any Christian reference being that Muse is very open minded towards religions but it does have a religious vibe to it. The Apocalypse is an idea shared by several religions some dating thousands of years before the birth of Christ. The person below me made a huge leap and seems to miss the point of the song completely. This song as dark as it may seems, shows the slightest bit of hope. There is more to the song then I can write but I'd love to hear some open minded responses. There has been a lot of political protest in Muse's music especially in Uprising but in Absolution and Black Holes and Revelations as well.

The Preacher's Story | Reviewer: Alice | 5/24/11

This song is about a man preaching on the last day of the earth. Through the chaos, the screaming, the mobs, a man is preaching the word of his God, hoping that god will come to save them.

"Declare this an emergency
Come on and spread a sense of urgency
And pull us through
And pull us through

And this is the end, the end
This is the end
Of the World"

Obviously is declaring the state of panic through out the world, and speaking of how we'll all either die or be saved.

"And it's time we saw a miracle
Come on it's time for something biblical
To pull us through
And pull us through"

He's beginning to preach the word of God, saying that if we are all faithful to him now, we'll be "pulled through" (saved/spared).

"Proclaim eternal victory
Come on and change the course of history
And pull us through
And pull us through"

The preacher is saying that if we listen to him and do what he tells us too, that we can change how the end will play out, and we'll be spared.

Wtf | Reviewer: Jose | 3/24/11

Great song. Listened to it a bunch of times. This dark ass song sounds like we are being pleaded with to join a dark army at the time of apocalypse. The song iscalled apocalypse please for fucks sake. Change the course of history huh.. What history?? How about good will triumph over evil. Crazy almost every chart topper I have come across has dark references to this same theme. Open ur eyes people. Look around with this lens and see for urselves

music fan | Reviewer: J.A.D | 12/18/10

I love their songs specially "supermassive blackhole".Most american fans came to know about Muse because of twilight but the twilight movie was a hit because of the songs if you know what i mean.I personally believe that if u hate a movie u don't have to critize about it, just ignore!

Muse>Twilight | Reviewer: China Guy | 12/12/10

This song, nor nearly all of Muse's other songs, has ANYTHING to do with Twilight. I am not a fan of Twilight, and as I see people arguing about it because of a great Muse song, it makes me hate it even more. Good day.

About sparkling vampires | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/3/10

I love Muse. I hate Twilight.
All this talk of vampires not sparkling....
In most stories it is true that vampires do not sparkle.... however there are a few eastern european myths that believe they do. The author of twilight didn't make up anything. She stole all of those concepts from different folklore around the world. Her books are crap and she writes like an 11 year old, but i have to say her taste in music doesn't suck.

twilight... yet again ^___^ | Reviewer: Liza | 9/21/10

haha. i love muse, they are simply amazing. but there's one funny thing i noticed:
(just wanna say right away im NOT a twilight fan.) its hilarious how only ONE twilight reference brings up so much anger in everyone who thinks muse is above it. i went back to look at comments and there was only one(i swear!!!) person who mentioned twilight. however 9-10 people put up angry comments of how much they hate 'stupid twilight fans' and how tired they are of twilight-related comments... lol. come on people. twilight might be a bit silly and overrated, but why do you hate it so much?

Love this Song. | Reviewer: Clint | 8/19/10

Please stop talking about Twilight! I know every little girl across america is in love with it. And mom's that stat at home are also. But the rest of us have lives, and we live good lives without having to include twilight. So, stop mentioning twilight just because a Muse song comes up. Muse was here before twilight. So it's a great song, and I just think that people need to stop mentioning Muse being with Twilight. Because, there's no connection. Except for their songs in the movies.

Damn you twilight | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/16/10

It'd be great if I could go 1 day without hearing a twilight reference :/
Twilight is fail. It's horrible
Muse is Win. It's awesome

Can't we keep it separate? And y'know, keep the sparkly vampire (Who lives in the woods and sparkles, so he's a pixie) And the retarded shirtless wolf out of the lives of music fans who really don't give a damn

Vampires | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/31/10

Actually kat, what mudkip means by saying that Vampires dont sparkle, is that the normal vampires that we read about as children didnt sparkle. Even though they arent real, vampires have certain characteristics that make them what they are. For example, dragons arent real, right? But if you saw or read a story about a dragon that breathed, say water instead of fire, you would say, hey thats not right dragons are supposed to breathe fire, even though dragons arent real. Wouldnt you? = )

fairies don't sparkle. | Reviewer: kat | 1/10/10

actually mudkip, if you knew anything about folklore, you would know fairies don't sparkle so your point failed. and it always failed because twilight is a fictional book series and in being a fictional book series the author can make up what they want so she can make vampires sparkle in her fictional book if she wants to. also, people like me who like twilight can listen to muse if they want to. i listened to muse before the movies came out but still people can listen to muse whether they like twilight or not so you shouldn't tell people to stfu if you don't know what you're talking about. and leah maybe if your going to say twilight fans should put things about twilight on a twilight fan page, then maybe you should put how songs turn you on on a singles meeting page. don't be a hypocrite.

Rebirth of the Historical Subject | Reviewer: SacredStiff | 12/12/09

Good sh*t. Never really took the time for the Muse, but eh hell. This is Big and I kinda like it, only thing that worries me is that either somebody in power has been listening to the muse; or these chaps are capturing an essense or reflection of an emerging historical consciousness or false-consciousness. BIG UP the Muse; Hakim Bay; Dave White; Alex Jones; Prison Planet; Guy Dubord; David Ray Griffen; oh and yo'self

this is incridible | Reviewer: Adhiana Mulawarman | 12/8/09

This song talking about saving the world .. and i think the way to save it, is destruct the world it self. Reset the life system of the world, cause theres to many coruption, sadness, criminal etc. It's imposible to fix it ...

NOT religious | Reviewer: Dee | 12/6/09

This song isn't a religious song, if anything it's anti-religious, Matthew Bellemy [sic?] said that the song is about how all religions are hoping for an apocalypse, so they can prove their religion is the right one.
