Anthony Callea was the runner up of Australian Idol 2.

The Melbourne born entertainer woed Australian audience
through his idol journey. However, his rendition of Andrea
Bocelli 'The Prayer" which really turned their attention.
To his devoted fans this only cemented what they already
knew.

His single "The Prayer" was released prior to Christmas '04
and went straigh to #1 where it sat for a period of 5
weeks. It still resides on the top 20 chart today.

Sorry, but you are WRONG!! Anthony Callea did NOT write Obvious. It was written by Andreas Carlsson, Pilot & Savan and has been recorded previously by Westlife in 2003 on their Turnabout album. Please be careful what you say, Anthony is a very talented artist, but I am sure he would be mortified that his fans are going around saying he wrote songs that he didn't write!!

I liked Anthony Callea right through his Idol journey. I was sad that he didn't get through Australian Idol 1, but he soon made it up again later. He has a great voice and I love the song Rain, that he sings.
