Over all the songs aren't as diverse in tone as previous collections. Her voice is as strong as always. But after all the political statements we've been served to in previous years in the age of Bush, it seems that the 2004 election just knocked all the political wind out of her. And that is a shame since it is now that we might like to hear her clarion voice for perspective -- if only to let us know that she hasn't given up on beatin' 'em and joined them.
