Angelic Upstarts Lyrics

What more can be said about this legendary band?

The Angelic Upstarts formed in South Shields, North-East
England 1977.
Influenced by bands such as The Clash and The Sex Pistols,
The Angelic Upstarts are a meeting of working class
ideology and musical aspiration.

Mensi was always liable to provoke reaction, his lyrics
making much of his working class roots, and lashing out at
police and politicians.

The original line up consisted of Mensi (vocals), Mond
(guitar),
Steve Forsten (bass) and Decca Wade (drums).

------ About the song Two Million Voices performed by Angelic Upstarts

i love this song, at the time it was released there were aprox 2 million people on the dole. thatcher was a bastard, let them eat bricks.most people wanted work but for working class kids such as myself it was "get yourself an education or start you`re own buisness" spoken like a true twat. those who read the lyrics please note that it not "never to return at dawn" but "never to return as dogs". im an upstart oi! oi!
