The song just describes a relationship with a person who you could have never seen yourself with, but falling in love with the person regardless. She knew he wasn't the one but she was in love with him regardless. The result being that her facade of love faded away into reality and she understood. Her tears dry on her own because she accepted that it wasn't going to work. However she is upset that she let herself fall for someone and is sick of searching for the right person.

All together a beautiful, emotional, inspirational, and (above all) relatable song.
