American Ghost Dance Lyrics - Red Hot Chili Peppers

Review The Song (5)

Oh give me a home
Where the buffalo roam
And the death of a race is a game
Where seldom is heard
A peacable word
From the white trash
Who killed as they came
Though these words dig deep
They offer no relief
God save the queen
I am an indian chief
There is a secret I keep
It's called the talking leaf
And you better believe
That he speaks his beliefs
Like a rock that bleeds
A sea of grief
My talking leaf speaks of
A wounded knee creek
American ghost dance...

A new man who is with old ways
He walks the streets of life
But he's in chains
I'm alive he cried
I can feel the flame
Burning red inside
I am an indian brave
There is a memory
That lives in my blood
Of the brand you laid
On all you touched
But the burning flame
Turns to burning pain
Genuine genocide
And that's truly insane
So like a wild hurricane
I will dance on the grave
Of my race that died
When it should have been saved

American ghost dance...

Amazing | Reviewer: Sean | 6/2/09

Hey yeah I agree with most of you this song is amazing I love the vocals though because its so playful. And funky but what can you ask for being produced by george clinton. Of course it will be funky. But yeah this is by far the most underrated cd of the chili peppers line up.

Great Song | Reviewer: Joe | 4/19/09

Great song with a lot of funk and style to it, and since i feel very strongly about the issue in this song i am glad some one dared to do what was neede and point out the atrocity our country commited. And to Martin who commented below, i want to appologize on behalf of all my people for being white trash asshole genocidal losers who deserve to be killed for what they did to your people

Funk | Reviewer: Gonzalo | 1/28/08

I think the voice is sung with such a style because its lets the bass to take more personality, specially in the verse, and is the one that makes the song flow, so most of the attention is drawn to the bass line. The work of Kidies gives style and he tries to stay away from those fuck n singers that want to take all the credit. The red hot chili peppers are a true band.

Style | Reviewer: Anonymous | 10/3/07

The way the song is sung is the style of the piece, it wouldn't really work sung any other way. Keidis sings like this in alot of his other pieces.

Good Song But | Reviewer: Martin | 9/12/07

This song is well written and th lyrics are awsome the only problem i have with it is the way it was sung i could barley understand it and as a native man i admire the Red Hot Chille Peppers for writting this song for it they have my respect as men but the way it was sung was hard to hear and i think could of been better sung but thats just my point of veiw thank you for the song
