Amen Lyrics - Kid Rock
Review The Song (8)
It's another night in hell
Another child won't live to tell
Can you imagine what it's like to starve to death
And as we sit free and well
Another soldier has to yell
Tell my wife and children I love them in his last breath
C'mon now amen, amen, amen
Habitual offenders, scumbag lawyers with agendas
I'll tell you sometimes people I don't know what's worse
Natural disasters or these wolves in sheep clothes pastors
Now damn it I'm scared to send my children to church
And how can we seek salvation when our nations race relations
Got me feeling guilty of being white
But faith in human nature, our creator and our savior, I'm no saint
But I believe in what is right
C'mon now amen, amen
I said amen, amen
Stop pointing fingers and take some blame,
Pull your future away from the flame
Open up your mind and start to live
Stop short changing your neighbors
Living off hand outs and favors, and maybe
Give a little bit more than you got to give
Simplify, testify, identify, rectify
And if I get high stop being so uptight
It's only human nature and I am not a stranger
So baby won't you stay with me tonight
[INSERT JAPANESE TRANSLATION]
It's a matter of salvation from them patience up above,
So don't give up so damn easy on the one you love, one you love
Somewhere you got a brother, sister, friend, grandmother, niece or nephew
Just dying to be with you
You know there's someone out there who unconditionally, religiously, loves you
So just hold on 'cause you know it's true
And if you can take the pain
And you can withstand anything, and one day
Stand hand in hand with the truth
I said amen, I said amen
I said amen, I said amen,

honestly give kid rock some credit, there's nothing wrong with this song, it's about everyone's religion not just christianity... stop saying that he's disrespecting god when he ain't. if anybody's disrespecting anyone it's @Tonya he's not saying anything about us being christian he's a christian himself, cut him some slack he's come along way from where he used to be, i've listned to him my whole life.
Come on people... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/2/11
Ok, EVERYONE knows our world is headed to hell. Kid Rock is NOT dissing God, he's simply questioning his faith. What's wrong with that? We all do it. Kid is also telling everyone to live their lives how they want, without having to worry what anyone thinks. It's simple people. Stop thinking he's dissing God, he's a Christian, I mean, the song is called "Amen"!!!! Why do some of you guys have to be so stupid? Listen to the words closely, and then tell me you don't agree with me...

I would like to know how Jesus is disrespected in this song... all he is refering to with the "Wolves in sheep clothed pastors" comment is the recent aligations of Pastors and preists having sexual relations with young boys. he is in NO way disrespecting the christian lord or god in this song by any means. i love how many chrisitians can read the entirly wrong thing into stuff like this in order to fully understand something you can only read it you also have to interpret it and think about the lyrics. To the christian who posted a long reply about this song needs to re-read these lyrics and rly take them for wat they are worth all the Kid is trying to say in this song is that this country is going very rapidly to the shitter and some things are so amazingly evil hypocrytical and messed up that hes scared to even send his children to a place everyone used to think was a safe only to have the possible threat of them being raped there.
For the record i am NOT christian but i do not condemn those who choose to walk that path. As the teachings of the Earth Mother state"what is your decision is yours and yours alone and should be judged by noone." But you need to stop and think every once and a while becuase all that comments such as that do make u look even more like an ego christian and only further digrace your religion.

Stop putting words in peoples' mouths.
This song means whatever you think it means, and yeah, everyone will have their own views.
And you don't "have to be a christian or not"
you can be in between.
Get over yourself.

you think about it,
when he says "religiously" loves you, it doesn't have to be christian or whatever, it can mean like you love them everyday, so it's like your doing it, "religiously"
think about that.
"OPEN UP YOUR MINDS
and start to live."

this song isnt anti christ or anything it actually a great song and if you kept reading the lyrics you would see that it says"You know there's someone out there who unconditionally Religiously loves you" and to me that sorta sounds like a praise from god saying that he does love everyone, but everyone has there own opinion and its not my job to judge. By The Way awesome song first time i hear it i was amazed keep up the great songs

Where in the world does Kid Rock get off talking about our "Savior" (whith what I might add are some very good points) while taking his name in vain. I just don't get it. Either call yourself a Christian or don't, but don't ride the fence. It's either black or white.. There is no grey! Oh, and by the way, Christian means Christ-like! Yes, we do all sin, and we all fall into temptation but the Bible says we are to strive to be Christ-like everyday and no die to self daily. As much as I agree that we have "Habitual offenders, scumbag lawyers with agendas I'll tell you sometimes people I don't know whats worse Natural disasters or these wolves in sheep clothes pastors" I have to take a stand for Jesus Christ and say I totally disagree with this entire song because it takes My Lord's name in vain. I'm not pointing fingers nor am I judgeing... I am just taking a stand for Jesus! He goes where I go, see's what I see, hear's what I hear and say's what I say. I don't want to be one that compromised my faith when I stand in front of him and God on that judgement day! **P.S. Just for the record, no I don't listen to Kid Rock. A friend knew about this song and I googled the lyrics to see what it was about.**
