Review about Ambition Something new... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 4/28/09
I don't think this song is misleading in title, or anything.
I think it's straight to the point.
It's talking about how high a persons hopes will get when the opportunity of "Something as good.
Something new. Somebody good." comes up.
They get ideals and expectations filling their head, and once it comes to them, it doesn't turn out to be what the person thought, and is in a way their downfall. And somehow, people never learn, and continually hurt themselves. A faulty foundation. I think it's talking about that.
This song chokes me up, I adore it.

The song played at the very end of this episode is a remixed version of "Proud" by Heather Small. The regular version of this song plays during the series's two-part pilot episode when Michael and Brian are on the roof of the hospital together
i love this so song so much.. i immediately fell for this song when i have watched qaf season finale i burst out into tears.. but i cant download it can someone please help me and send it to my email? thank you so much! ^_^

I think... | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/17/07
This is just what i THINK the song is about. The title "ambition" is kind of misleading. Being ambitious and driven is generally a good thing, but in this context it sounds like its describing people who can never be satisfied in a relationship. When they don't have "a love that's perfect" they go looking for "Somebody good, Somebody new." They know what they're looking for doesn't exist because "Ain't a love as perfect
Everybody knows it." They overlook and give up on what they have in the hopes of finding a fairytale love that doesn't exist. That's why "Ambition cuts us down."

I think what the song is saying is this;no matter how much that person loves you, ambition will always get in the way, you´ll always loose. This of course is not always the case but I think it was in this one(QAF 513).For me it´s not the lyrics that move me,it´s the actual music.I find it almost spiritual,church-like.It´s basically an instrumental piece. It stuck its fist in my stomach and twisted and twisted.I felt gutted after hearing it,still do everytime, don´t know if it´s due to the context of how I heard it for the first time, but the feeling has stuck. For me it´s a pesimistic song,a song about defeat.
I love it but I don't get it | Reviewer: Me | 7/24/07
I listen to it, and I love it, the music even the lyrics. But I don't get the story, if there is a story. What does it mean?

Introduced to "Ambition" through Queer as Folk, season 5. Truly a beautiful, sad song. Made me want to hear more.
