what were you thinking
i got a right to ask
is there a reason
other than your past
a great pretender
why was i the last to see
through your SKIN
is there a chance you'll ever change
it's always the same
you're always to blame
is there any way around this
i can't see
you walked out on her
you planned to be free
i'm trying not to point the finger
but it's killing me
what were you thinking
were you thinking of me
did you see what they wrote
on the family tree
i know it's over
all in the past
i need to forgive you?
if i'm to last - will i ever change
take these pieces
thrown away
put them together from
night 'n' day
washed by the sun
dried by the rain
to be my father
in the fatherless days

Review about Always This song is touching | Reviewer: Obake | 3/25/2008
I'm curious as to what the history of this song is. Did one of the Newsboys write this song out of experience or did they write it for the purpose of people that are going through some problem? Anyways, this is a really good song.
I love this song | Reviewer: Sara | 7/3/2007
This song gives me chills, especially now. At LifeTeen this week we were talking about how everybody needs the Father. Later that night I turned on my iPod and guess what was playing? This song.
I love the Newsboys. Bring back some of the older songs, please!
Awesome song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 6/2/2007
Great song, need to bring back people willing to right bold statements and sing them like this old school stuff
