Heart All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You Lyrics

Last updated: 02/28/2013 11:01:10 AM

It was a rainy night when he came into sight
Standing by the road, with no umbrella, no coat
So I pulled up alongside and I offered him a ride
He accepted with a smile so we drove for a while.
I didn’t ask him his name this lonely boy in the rain
Fate, tell me it’s right, is this love at first sight
Please don’t make it wrong, just stay for the night.

All I wanna do is make love to you
Say you will
You want me too
All I wanna do is make love to you
I’ve got lovin’ arms to hold on to

So we found this hotel it was a place I knew well
We made magic that night. Oh, he did everything right
He brought the woman out of me, so many times, easily
And in the morning when he woke all I left him was a note
I told him, 'I am the flower you are the seed'
We walked in the garden we planted a tree
Don’t try to find me, please don’t you dare
Just live in my memory, you’ll always be there

All I wanna do is make love to you
One night of love was all we knew
All I wanna do is make love to you
I’ve got lovin’ arms to hold on to

Oh, oooh, we made love
Love like strangers
All night long
We made love

Then it happened one day, we came round the same way
You can imagine his surprise when he saw his own eyes
I said please, please understand
I’m in love with another man
And what he couldn’t give me was the one little thing that you can

All I wanna do is make love to you
One night of love was all we knew
All I want to do is make love to you
Come on say you will you want me too

All I wanna do is make love to you
One night of love was all we knew
All I wanna do is make love to you
Say you will baby you want me too

All night long
All night long
All night long
All night long

All I wanna do
All I wanna do
All I wanna do
All I wanna do
All I wanna do is make love to you

One night of love was all we knew
All night long

Cheating no matter what | Reviewer: Aaron | 2/28/13

I don't understand how this is about an empowered woman or how its romantic at all!!!She cheated on her man because he couldn't have children. OK so besides the obvious that she could use fertility treatments instead of screwing a stranger behind her mans back then if its just about getting pregnant why sing about how many rimes she came!! Yeah real sweet and thoughtful. I'm sure if it was the man cheating because he couldn't have sex with his woman . Screwed a complete stranger and talked about how hard he came women would see how romantic it was.

The line "It was a place I knew well" makes me wonder if the female is in love with someone who is unable to have sex. That line makes it sound like she has done this before a few times. If she was just wanting to get pregnant and in love with her man, she wouldn't be out there trolling for guys to do the deed too many times. She'd know when she was ready and would find someone to do the deed. I don't think having a baby is what it's all about. I think she goes out looking for the love she can't get at home.

It is about finding a man to give the couple a baby | Reviewer: Rod | 9/26/10

This song is about a couple who know the problem is with him in having a child. He probably agreed to her finding a man to get her pregnant so the guy would never know and stay out of their lives. The lyrics "when he saw his own eyes" means that she had a baby boy with her who looked liked the one night stand lover. The rest is her asking him to leave her and the man she loves alone to raise this love child without interruption from the lover.

its really about love | Reviewer: kerili | 7/10/10

"When he saw his own eyes" means that he saw himself in her eyes
and "the one thing he couldn't give me was the one little thing that you can" is the love he gave her to which the other man cant live up to
atleast thats what i got

Let Me Get This Straight... | Reviewer: Madonna | 6/13/10

Ok, so I'm a little confused. So, the song is about a girl making love with a stranger in a hotel. And so that stranger gave her a baby.

Yet she was in love with another man, who couldn't give her the baby.

When she woke in the morning, she felt so guilty about cheating that all she left was a note...

If she fell in love with the stranger at first sight, why not just break up with another man?

Question: What does it mean when the lyrics say, "Then it happened one day,
We came round the same way
You can imagine his surprise
When he saw his own eyes..."

Does that mean he was in the rain once again, she pulled over and showed the baby?

GOOD MUSIC MEETS GREAT STORYTELLING | Reviewer: Chapin Charlie | 1/15/10

It's highly unlikely to find a good song that tells an interesting story, but this one does! Who cares if the woman is married or if she's having unprotected sex with a stranger. Listen to the song and enjoy...oooh love on the road, what a great theme for a song. Kudos to "Mutt" Lange and Heart!

Story Line | Reviewer: Anonymous | 7/17/09

Where does it say she's married???? I;m in love with another man doesn't mean she's married!! It was a place I knew well. That can mean that it is a Hotel near or not too far from where she lives. The man she's in love love with can't have kids... Ok. She wants them. What would you do? Leave the love of your life cause of that or.... Idiots.

these lyrics are so bad, they are good. | Reviewer: the rickster | 2/27/08

I heard this song on my clock radio this morning, and it brought back memories...bad memories. These song lyrics definintely rank in the top five worst lyrics ever. There isn't a cliche that the Heart sisters miss in this howler. Backed by mediocre music, the tortured insipid rhymes bear up to repeated listens because they are so over-the-top awful. Anybody who wants to throw away $15 to buy this CD -- just send me the money if you're going to throw it away on this junk.

I love this song | Reviewer: Anonymous | 1/30/08

This song reminds me of my girlfriend whom I had to leave behind. Not because of the lyrics, but because we listened to this song many times at night and they were the best moments of my life. So even though the lyrics don't apply to us, this song can still make me sad and miss my sweetie <3

Such is life!! | Reviewer: Anonymous | 8/6/07

Many couples out there cannot have kids. That she had the courage to pick up the guy on a rainy night and go all the way shows that she is a woman who knows what she wants and no distance is too far to get it!!! If her partner is happy with this decision then it really was only ONE night - small price to pay for a lovely child in our troubled world....

wedding bliss | Reviewer: looneyeclipse | 5/28/07

lol @ j.... That may or may not be the perfect song , depending on the kind of marriage one aspires to have. If one aspires to marry some dorkhead cause they have more money than sense, well, then the song might fit perfectly lmao... and I doubt she knew the place well because she passed it by every day on her way to sing in the choir, in her hometown church.

"Oh, I shall love and cherish you,and bake chocolate chip cookies each weekend. Oh, btw, I've been getting banged by someone at the Plaintree Motel, and now I'm prego"

"You may have given me a ring, but he rang my door"

"Now be a good little hubby and go fetch the diapers at the store already"

Love? | Reviewer: JollyMolly | 4/10/07

To me it seems she really loves her husband and that is good. It also could be interpreted that all he couldn't give her was a child.

The only thing contrasting with this is the line "It was a place I knew well" which indeed suggests that this is a frequent behavior for her. What think ye others?

Good start to a wedding. | Reviewer: j | 1/8/06

Did you happen to read the lyrics darling, it's about a woman who is married. She drives around, finds some guy on the street, takes him to a hotel (that she frequents), and then has his kid. I'm sure your husband will really appreciate that as a wedding song, D'oh!
